Dave Zangaro Previews The Eagles-Titans Game
The Eagles face a tough test this Sunday in the Titans. And to get some insight into that game, “The Best Show Ever?” talked to Dave Zangaro from NBC Sports Philly. What impact will the return of Jordan Davis have? How should the
On How the Eagles Will Go About Slowing Down Derrick Henry
“Look at the last two games the Titans have played, the opposing defenses have done a pretty good job. The Bengals and the Packers have slowed him down. I think the easiest answer here, and the answer Gannon will use is to have that 5 man front. And that is where it really helps to have Jordan Davis back. They started the season with one player as that NT, and it was Davis. Now they will have Jordan Davis and Linval Joseph. So they can rotate it and keep those guys fresh.
I think they are just going to have to play a ton of 5-man stuff. Because it’s really been their only answer to stop the run game. And against Derrick Henrey, you need everything at your disposal to help slow him down.”
On How Eagles Should Attack Titans’ Defense
“To me, that is the most fascinating matchup of the week. The two strengths here. The Titans who really don’t give up much at all on the ground. And the Eagles who feel confident being able to run against anyone… I think their plan is still going to be to run the ball. But look at this Titans’ defense, and at least on paper, they are much more susceptible through the air. They have much less experience in the secondary… I know the Eagles just want to do whatever gets them points.
But against a team we know is going to pound the rock, even when it is not working, I wonder what the best plan of attack for the Eagles is going to be… It might be easier to throw on this team than to run on them.”
