Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- I Have No Expectations For The Eagles
Here is what Anthony had to say in his Opening Diatribe this morning…
I dont have any expectations. Even now. I said before the season, it is a season for me sans expectations. Obviously, there is a threshold I would like to see them get to. I think they are good enough to get to a Super Bowl. And if you get to a Super Bowl you can win. I think the Bills and the Chiefs are probably the best teams. But, the Eagles can play with anybody. Especially if you are racking up 363 yards on the ground. this is a good Football team. I am proud of this Football team. I have great pride in this team and how they are built. And not just in a one-year situation.
The Eagles are different than the Ram. The Rams sold out to win a Super Bowl. And they did… But look at them now. Busted up. The hangover. It’s a lost year for them. I do not believe that is the future for the Eagles. The future of the Eagles is they have seasons. Surely it will be ebbs and flows. maybe one year is a down year. But I think they have a decade of good football ahead of them. The way they are built with youth. I feel great about where they are.
I don’t have any expectations for the Eagles. If they don’t get to the Super Bowl or win the Super Bowl obviously I will be disappointed. But I didn’t expect Super Bowl. So I can’t be “Oh my god.” It’s like the Phillies. When the Phillies lose the World Series, I know people were freaking out. I was more content. Obviously, I wanted to win. Everybody wants that. but what I hold my teams to, is to be real contenders. Taht at some point they will break through and win it. That’s what I expect from my team. Phillies are in a good spot. And this Eagles team is a dream right now.
