Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- Eagles Win Over the Colts
See what Anthony had to say about the win over the Colts in his Opening Diatribe this morning…
Even though it was a slog, we get to celebrate an Eagles win over the Colts. You saw right away the impact of Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh as run stuffers. This is why you have to give Howie a lot of credit. Because those two alone really made a difference. They made a difference against one of the best running backs in football in Jonathan Taylor. And having those guys being able to stuff at the line of scrimmage, freed up the linebackers. Look at TJ Edwards and the game that he had. That’s because you were able to stuff up the middle.
Jonathan Gannon wants to play a certain scheme we know that. And I will give him credit. I thought he called a much better game than he did the week before on Monday Night where he was horrible. I think it also helped to have the two big stuffers in the middle. But he was more aggressive. And this is where he gets a lot of credit. I loved the blitzes in that last drive when Indy takes over. You had to bring pressure in that spot, and he did it. So we will take him out of the cannon…
The best thing was Jalen Hurt’s poise at the end of the game. You want to talk about a tremendous play design and play call? That TD was an incredible play design. Kelce is going the other way. He takes everybody. What that does is paralyzes the defense. All of a sudden here is Jalen following the back, and he has wide open space. Everybody is thinking that the play is going to follow Kelce. That was big.
