Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- The Test of The Upcoming Eagles Schedule
See what Anthony Gargano had to say in his opening diatribe this morning…
The Eagles are going to be fun. We have some good games coming up. I’m happy with the way the schedule lines up. Because the schedule will dictate a lot of what we know about them. Do I think they are good? Yes. Is my confidence shaken? No. I still think they are a really good team, I think they are the best team.
However, I do think there is some vulnerability there. And without Jordan Davis, the defensive coordinator has dropped the ball the last couple of weeks. Jordan Davis, even though he is only in there for 30% of the snaps, is able to make up for a lot because of the way he can clog the middle of that line, and the way he can play the run. And coming up you are going to have a lot of testers. You are going to be waiting for the big man to come back. And no Dallas Goedert is a little frightening for the offense. Losing Dallas Goedert is a big deal, he is a big weapon…
There is one Achilles heel, and it showed itself. Teams can run the ball, because of how they are built. And you have to counteract that. Jonathan Gannon, and get his defense off the field. And you know the offense when it is limited possessions, you are trying to hit a 5 run hr in one possession. It’s kind of foolish to think that after you sit for all those plays, that you can get into any kind of rhythm. So to blame the offense for Monday night is ludicrous.
You need to get off the field. And that is what Jonathan Ganno9n failed to do. I have to believe he will work on that, and that won’t be as big of an issue. But even if that is a legitimate flaw in this team. They are really good, they are not a phone. And I had this conversation and I said dude they are not a phony. Fugazi he said. And I am like no, they are real. I don’t know if they can win a Super Bowl. You don’t win a Super Bowl before Thanksgiving. But they have a good chance. They are in the mix. And I think they are squarely in the mix for the NFC.
