Anthony Gargano’s Opening Diatribe- 9-0 Tonight
See what Anthony Gargano had to say in his Opening Diatribe this morning…
9-0 tonight. That is what we are waiting on. Monday Night Football. 9-0 is on the docket for this evening. And finally, we get football back after a mini-bye from the Thursday night in Houston. We’re back. Eagles-Washington tonight.
They are rested. They are predominantly healthy. Obviously, Jordan Davis is a huge piece that they need to get back. Especially with the upcoming run teams they are going to be facing. Suddenly Indianapolis breathed new life by Jeff Saturday, with Jonathan Taylor, that’s a big deal. You have Green Bay coming up, and they can run the ball. You have some good squads coming up. It’s going to be a good test in the stretch run for the Eagles, which culminates with 3 road games, including the Cowboys in Dallas on Christmas Eve day. But in between, you have Tennesee and Derrick Henry, and the Bears with Justin Fields, who has been freaking out. It’s a good test. And I think the Birds are up to it.
We saw yesterday, their competition live. We saw Minnesota in a crazy game, win at Buffalo. They get the big turnover TD. So Minnesota wins. I don’t know what it does for them, because the Eagles did beat them on Monday Night before. We saw the Cowboys lose. Go Pack go. The vaunted defense of the Cowboys was done in by a rook. Christian Watson. 3 TDs Rodgers. he played his ass off yesterday. And the Cowboys go down. Their other chief competition is the Niners. They were on the ropes early last night. Justin Herbert played fantastic. But then the Niners kind of flexed in the second half… That’s a pretty formidable team. But all those teams, they are not unbeaten. They are not 8-0 going into tonight, like your Birds.
