Sixers And Others Get It Right w/ Their 2022-23 City Edition Uniforms
One of the cool things about the NBA season is the unveiling of the Nike City Edition uniforms. With the collaboration the league has with the sneaker/apparel giant, they have come up with some really cool innovative designs while also flashing back to some fan favorites in each market.
Locally, the Philadelphia 76ers have done it again with their design of the full uniform, the ‘City of Brotherly Love,’ which is displayed across the chest of the jersey. The Sixers’ theme for the 2022-23 season was inspired by the “History and Heritage of Philadelphia Basketball” — tapping into the heartstrings of all Philly hoops fans. The team will first wear them on Sunday, Nov. 13th as they host the Utah Jazz. Where does the 76ers uniform rank among some of the best around the NBA?
Let’s take the very best City Edition jerseys for their look only, put them in order while you debate which belongs and which doesn’t:
1) Philadelphia 76ers: Already stated why above. They’re very, very clean.

2) Phoenix Suns: Obvious reasons for this author – the blue is pretty cool, also.

3) Dallas Mavericks: Like the flashback to the colors of the early years. Have always looked dope.

4) Cleveland Cavaliers: They look so smooth. The gold and Lake Erie blue on the white jersey is too good. Great detail in this ‘The LAND’ on the jersey. One of the best uniforms.

5) Houston Rockets: Was always a fan of the pinstripes on this uniform in the late ’90s through the early 2000s

6) San Antonio Spurs: That turquoise color will always work for that organization. They also look like the 1996 All-Star unis which are pretty popular.

7) Boston Celtics: They may be a true rival for the Sixers, but this design is solid.

8) Washington Wizards: Kinda like the pink blossom theme to go with the Washington Nationals uniforms from the baseball season.

9) Brooklyn Nets: The Black uniform inspired by famed Brooklyn artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat, from the 2020 season was very well done. This new white version takes second place behind them, but still good with the graffiti look.
