Charlie Manuel Tries To Lift Our Moods After Game 4
Last night was rough. It is one thing to lose, but that was a gut punch. It is understandable to be a bit down after a game like that where your team gets no hit in the World Series. But we have another game tonight, and we need to get the energy back into the city. Charlie Manuel did that for Anthony this morning. And Anthony wanted to let Charlie do the same thing for the rest of us too. So Anthony talked to Charlie Manuel so he could lift our moods after a rough night.
On Bouncing Back After Last Night
“I am pumped up. Let me tell you something. Our game last night? No one liked that game that lives in Philadelphia. But that is part of baseball. That is what Baseball is. And we have to come back tonight. We got knocked down. And tonight we are going to come back and throw some numbers on the board… Last night’s game is one of those games what happened was a guy pitched a great game. And he kept the fans out of the game… We have to come out tonight, score some runs, and play like we are supposed to play. Things are still sitting in front of us. We have a chance to go back to Houston up 3-2. And we can do it. We should be up and ready to go.”
On Facing Verlander Again
When a hitter gets a hit off a guy, he always remembers it. If he hits HR and doubles, he will remember it as long as he lives. They know they can hit him. So why not. Let’s go play. And when we start hitting balls and doing that arouses the crowd, they will applaud as loud as they can.. today is the game that counts, and today is the game we want.
