Phillies Fans Need To Make Their Presence Felt
We have this reputation among the national media and fans of being heathens and knuckle draggers that are 1 step removed from being cavemen. Own it.Tonight, as the Phillies prepare for a pivotal game 3 against the Houston Astros, it is time to embrace the narrative. It is time to give the Astros players EVERYTHING you’ve got. It is time to make make our presence felt.
During this post season the national media have often mentioned the impact that the home crowd at Citizens Bank Park has had. Its LOUD.

Phillies fans have shown up so far but they need to up their game even more so. Just looking on paper, the Astros are better. Theyre deeper. Theyre used to being here and the Phillies are not. The Phillies are the underdog story. A team that scrapped and clawed their way into the playoffs with a “just get in and see what happens.” Two different mentalities, two different teams, two VERY different fan bases.
You dont hear about the Houston fan base effecting much. Even with a closed dome the crowd didnt seem to play much of a factor. In fact, Joe Davis and John Smoltz routinely brought up the crowd at Citizens Bank Park while the games were being played in Houston. Its known now that if you are coming into Philly youre walking into “the jungle.” Just ask Nick Castellanos
“Hey it’s tough to play in the jungle, man”

“It’s real. It’s definitely a home field advantage for us playing here. Philly has been off the chain these postseason games”

So be that advantage. Be loud. Be creative. Lose your voice. Make it so loud that the pitchers cant hear the catchers signs. Make it a truly jarring experience. Make it the jungle.
