Larry Bowa is Confident Heading Into Series Vs Astros
Larry Bowa has been our good luck charm. Anthony has had him on to discuss every series so far in the playoffs. And Larry Bowa has come in extremely confident every time, even when others weren’t. And now Anthony talked to him again. Was Bowa just as confident heading into this series as he was in the other 3? See what Larry Bowa had to say below…
On What He Thinks About the Matchup vs the Astros
“I don’t understand why they are favored. If you look at every team we have played. Go look at their 7,8,9 hitters, and you can even throw Houston in there. Look at our lineup, anyone down there can hurt you on our team. I am not saying there is such a thing as easy outs, but you can breathe a little bit at the bottom of this Houston lineup. And the fact Altuve and Tucker have not swung the bat well. And the fact Verlander is 0-6 with over a 5 ERA in the World Series. I love our chances… So I like the matchup. I don’t understand why Houston is such a huge favorite. I do agree they do have a great pitching staff. But I like the matchup, I really do.”
On an Advantage the Phillies Have
“We have a long lengthy lineup. You got Segura hitting down at the bottom like that. Come on. That is a pretty good guy to have down there. And Marsh who is capable of hitting HRs. Stott has down a tremendous job. And the fact they have no left-handers in the bullpen. I would like a left-hander down there to face our big boys from the left side. The fact they are not down there, I like our chances with our lefties vs their right-handers. So I would think our team would be a little bit of a favorite. But no one is giving us any credit.”
On The Impact the Phillies Crowd Has
“I don’t want anybody to go unnoticed about this crowd. This crowd is intimidating. I don’t care if you played 20 years in the big league… Houston has no idea. It is a different crowd. If we can go out there and do what we are supposed to do in Houston, they are going to be shocked to see the intensity, and how loud our fanbase is right now.”
