Nick Sirianni Speaks to the Media Ahead of Cardinals Game
Nick Sirianni spoke to the media ahead of Sunday’s game. he talked about the team’s identity, on some rookies not getting any playing time, the various Eagles injuries, and defending Kyler Murray. Here is some of what Coach Sirianni had to say…
On What He Says to Rookies Who Arent Getting Much Playing Time Yet…
“You’re only one snap away from having a more predominant role. So know what your role is, and contribute like crazy on Special Teams. Nakobe (Dean) made a great play on Special teams last week. Cam (Jurgens) is doing a great job of staying on Jason’s hip, and getting good reps in practice. We are gaining more and more confidence in him. Give us that confidence in practice by going out and working… So the message is to know your role, contribute in your role, but also look to extend your role. And how do you do that? By coming to work every day, grinding every day, and by showing us you can play every day.”
On If Playing Against Jalen Hurts in Practice Helps Prepare the Defense for Kyler Murray…
“I think big time. The fact they have had to handle Jalen all training camp makes a big difference. At least it is not their first time doing it… Our defense has had to do that. And they had to do that in practice often. Now they don’t get to hit Jalen, and we are going to have to go out there and hit (Kyler) live. Kyler is a really good player. He can make plays with his arm, he can make plays with his feet. Very dynamic playmaker. We are going to have to be on it to contain him. But it definitely helps that this isn’t their first rodeo with it. What’s different is now you have to tackle him.”
