Even without my voice I have a lot to say!

Even without my voice I have a lot to say!
My voice started to go out on me Tuesday night. Since I don’t sing in the shower at 4am so as not to wake Cristina I had no clue it was gone like that until we hit the airwaves on Wednesday. If you heard it, I apologize. It wasn’t as bad pre-show as it was once we took to the air. I have given it some more rest and I wake up this morning seeing it has made strides. I’m hoping to return for our Friday edition of the JK Show. That said, I have a lot of things I’d love to get off my chest…
- Gabe Kapler and Joe Girardi got crushed in this city for their teams playing gutless, listless baseball down the stretch over 4 seasons. As I’ve said before, “Philly Rob” was on those coaching staffs and then ascended to the throne. He has dialed up his own September puke fest. He obviously didn’t learn anything that he could correct with his plan now that he is manager. Honestly, this collapse that he is authoring May be the worst of them all. What can we say without hesitation? It’s on the players. I’ve long argued the Phillies Clubhouse DNA was suspect. It’s proving out once again. Something is off. I’m going to say it again, when your best player isn’t your leader, I question it.
- The further we go in Jaguars week the better I feel about Sunday’s game. One of the things I wanted to see the Eagles do this season was return to being a defensive force at home. Remember under Jim Schwartz when the Eagles had that run holding teams under 15 points a game at home? The 7 against the Vikings was a fantastic start towards that. I don’t see them holding Jax to less than 14, but a (4-0) start would be wild.
- Enough talk of the Eagles having a weak schedule. I’m stealing this from ESPN Stats and Info from schedule release night, but the playoff teams in the NFL every season since the NFL expanded to 32 teams average 7 of them playing what turns out to be in the Top 10 weakest schedules. It happens for teams every year, not just the Eagles. You have to win the games you are supposed to win and pull the occasional upset. Nick Sirianni has lost one game where he was favored, last years Giants game. I think he needs to address the Phillies before the Washington series.
- Bob was at 76ers Media Day and he has shared a lot of his observations on the air. I heard Devon commenting on it too. Energy around a team is important, but talent matters even more. I’m so excited by the additions to the 76ers roster for 2022-23. The depth looks amazing. I’m wondering how Doc Rivers is going to keep everybody happy. That’s a wonderful “issue” for them to have to work out!
- My wife and I watch a lot of “true crime” shows and enjoy when we catch a good 20/20 or 48 Hours on network TV. I can’t imagine sitting down to 10 hours of anything regarding Jeffrey Dahmer though. He was one of those most twisted, sadistic monsters ever to roam the earth. Something about me is disgusted at him being sensationalized like this. Especially when the victims aren’t telling us what went on and he isn’t either. These made for TV let’s dramatize what we think went on programs are too creepy for words.
- I’ve spent the last 24 hours texting, watching TV and reading. I’m going to take a walk later. I don’t just sit quietly and reflect enough. I figure you already knew that!
Thank you for supporting our show and station. Let’s cross our fingers that we can have a great FanFest 2022 whatever date we hold it. I gave many friends and family in Florida. Thankfully they appear to have weathered the storm. My prayers are out to those who were not so fortunate.
