James Palmer Discusses Where the Eagles Rank Among NFL Teams
The Eagles look to be one of the best teams in the NFC, if not the NFL. But just how good are they? James Palmer from The NFL Network joined us to discuss the Eagles, where they rank among other NFL teams, Jalen Hurts, and more. Here is some of what James Palmer had to say to us…
On Who the Good Teams Are In The NFL, and Where the Eagles Stand Amongst them…
“It’s been a really weird year. I’ve had some players tell me that the first few weeks of the season are always a crapshoot. There are teams that come out slow like the Packers and you don’t really take it seriously. And there are teams that come out of the gate quick. You really get to know teams by week 3. And I still don’t know how many teams where we know what they are. Some of the big-name teams that we know are going through some massive changes…
I think you are being honest, you have to say the Eagles, the Dolphins, the Bills, and then I don’t know. Those are probably the only 3 that you can really say with certainty right now that you expect them to keep playing well. There are plenty of teams that aren’t playing great. I think you are going to see a better Bucs team on Sunday Night. Their offensive line issues, I think, are going to hamper them the rest of the season. So I just think some of these teams we are used to seeing play well, yes they are going to get to the postseason. But as a complete roster, the Eagles and the Bills are probably the most complete.”
On What He Thinks of Jalen Hurts
“The guy works his butt off 24 hours a day. You knew he was going to get better. And everybody I talked to on the coaching staff in Philadelphia knew he was going to get better. The question was how much better. He is always going to find ways to win games in the NFL. That is a testament to how his makeup is. But we were curious what jumps were going to happen this off-season… This is set up for him to succeed. You have one of, if not the best, offensive lines in the game. You have Dallas Goedert, AJ Brown, and Devonta Smith. He is set up to succeed… I think hes playing at a really high level. But the jump he made this off-season is bigger than what we expected.”
On If Dallas Could Threaten The Eagles In The NFC East
“I don’t see it. Honestly. What we did see was 3 quarters of Dak rerunning this offense. And I don’t think it wowed anybody. You don’t lose Amari Cooper and get better. How good is he playing for the Browns right now? I don’t you lose that type of player and bet better. I don’t think they are a legitimate threat. Go position group by position group, and tell me which one you would take the Cowboys in.”
