What’s Brewing With Jen- Pilots Asleep At The Wheel
What was brewing with Jen Scordo today? As they do every day on “The Best Show Ever?” they went to Jen to get the most interesting, weirdest, and funniest recent news stories. Today Jen reported on a story about pilots who fell asleep and missed their landing, a woman surviving an 80ft fall, and one NY realtor charging a ridiculous broker’s fee. Here are today’s stories.
Woman Survives 80 Ft Fall, But Breaks “Nearly” Every Bone in Her Body
Anna Parsons is lucky to be alive. While rock climbing in Yosemite National Park, she slipped and fell around 80 ft. She broke 3 ribs and her spine and fractured her neck and her pelvis in 3 places. Her right foot had to be reconstructed. Her left leg below the knee had to be amputated. She also suffered a collapsed lung. Her helmet was destroyed, but thankfully her head remained uninjured.
Her medical bills have already surpassed one million. But there has been a swell of support for her from both the California rock climbing community and the surfing community back in New Zealand where she is from.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by my family and friends,” she said. “I think what helps me get through all this mentally is that.”
NYC Realtor Charges $20k Broker’s Fee For $1,750 A Month Apartment
We have heard “The rent is too damn high” before, but now you can also say “The Broker’s Fee is too damn high,” as well. Well at least one NYC renter can. He found an apartment for $1750, which is very low by NYC standards, but the downside is he also had to pay a $20k broker’s fee. To make it worse the apartment was not even ready on move-in day.
“He said, ‘Looking at the rent-stabilized price and looking at the broker fee, it will make sense in the long term,’ which, at the end of the day, it does. But at the same time, it’s like, wow, that’s a lot of money for a broker fee,”- The tenant who had to pay the fee

Pilots Fall Asleep And Miss Landing
A lot of us have fallen asleep on the job before. But it is a bit more dangerous when your job is piloting a flying piece of metal through the sky. That is what happened on one flight from Ethiopian Airlines. The two pilots both fell asleep. They were supposed to land in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. But the plane missed its landing. The two pilots didn’t wake up until the autopilot disengaged and the sirens went off in the cockpit.
The plane did eventually reach its destination, but 25 minutes late. Both pilots have been suspended while the incident is investigated. Aviation Analyst Alex Macheras blamed pilot fatigue for what happened.
“Pilot fatigue is nothing new, and continues to pose one of the most significant threats to air safety — internationally.”
