Letting The Party Begin: 2
By: Haley Taylor Simon
Another week which means two things.
1.) Last weeks article went well
2.) I made it to the station and didn’t get lost in Allentown….again.
Anyways, we had another week of The John Kincade Show, which means a lot to talk about! Maybe I’ll even write and explain how Allentown even happened.
Pat Egan GOES OFF on Mets Fan
Philadelphia sports talk radio is NO place for a Mets fan to call and “brag.” Sure, we have fans of different teams call all the time to put input, respectfully. When this Mets fan called in; it was anything but that and Pat put him in his place. Egan was 100% in the right on this one. We ALL dislike Mets fans but we’re civil with them when needed. If you push us Philadelphia fans we will stand our ground.
If you need to shut up a Mets fan play this video of Pat. BOOM. You owned them.
Flyers Vs. Sixers Fans
John and Bob got into a HEATED discussion regarding who has more fans; Flyers or Sixers? John went with the approach of the history of the franchise with multiple finals’ appearances. Bob is countering that with stating there is just simply just more fans of the Sixers than the Flyers.
This is a glimpse of how that conversation went:
JK: “The Flyers were a much more important thing in this town then the Sixers”
BC: “Not in my lifetime”
JK: “Wow, I lived the same lifetime”
What’s my thought?! I’m conflicted! I have to side with John. Just because currently the Flyers are a dumpster fire doesn’t mean they weren’t the more successful team throughout both of the teams’ history. I can also see Bob’s point since currently the Sixers from my observations they do have more fans. It’s something that we will agree to disagree on but we can agree the Flyers and Sixers will NEVER be as popular as the Eagles.
Chevy Turns 25
The man behind the scenes made an appearance on Wednesday’s show as he celebrated his 25th birthday! All the guys surprised “Heavy Chevy” with cheesecake which he said he liked.
John Told Chevy to make a wish and it HAD to be Philadelphia sports related. Bob said for him not to wish for a championship anytime soon….
I have the opportunity to work with Chevy behind the scenes and he does A LOT for The John Kincade Show. We have our show streamed on Youtube and Twitch. Recently Youtube gained 10K subscribers!!!
Just like John, Jamie, Bob, Pat, and Connor; Chevy comes in everyday as well producing the visual aspect of the show. He makes the graphics that you’re even seeing on this article I’m writing !
From all of us at the Fanatic, Happy birthday Chevy!
FIGHT SONGS
One of the funniest segments on this weeks show has to do with the guys breaking down the Washington Commanders might songs that they’re having the fans chose which one to use. This segment had me tearing up as I wish driving home from the shore. What got to me was all of the guys cracking up as they were listening to the audio. John even said it sounded like it was recorded in the men’s bathroom.
As Eagles fans we are lucky enough to have the best two word combination in HISTORY “Go Birds.” The Commanders have…well…as Jamie said, “That’s embarrassing.” Yep, couldn’t agree more.

Allentown/Pat Cares
Fine. I’ll admit, I went to Allentown instead of South Philly. Let me explain. Yes, there is a backstory. I was at the John Kincade Show happy hour at the delicious P.J Whelihan’s. I had wings, mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, wings- okay I’m clearly trying to distract myself from explaining how this happened.
I left P.J’s and wanted to get home since I had a long day, I put in my address and went off. Little did I realize the address I put in I must of accidentally clicked on Allentown. I’m use to driving backroads, maybe it’s my own doing but as I was an hour into my drive I thought it was strange that I was in a remote area. I kept driving for another 30 minutes and saw a sign that said I entered Allentown.
I texted some of the guys from the radio because I thought it was funny and little did I know my accidental drive to Allentown would become the joke of the week. Point is, mistakes happen, we all make them. My mistakes happen to air…just like the Uber situation… which showed me how much Pat truly does care about me.
