Eagles’ Starters Set To Play On Friday
By: Haley Taylor Simon
Preseason is a few days away as the Eagles host the Jets Friday. The Jets already stated that they would play their starters for one to two series.
Today after the Eagles concluded their practice; head coach, Nick Sirianni, stated the starters will play a few series as well, but is not committing to exactly how much or little they will play. Sirianni said he would figure out how much he’ll actually play the guys the day of the game.

This is the only preseason game taking place at home for the Eagles as they travel to Cleveland and Miami the next two weeks. If the Eagles want to get comfortable as they won’t be returning to the Lincoln Financial Field until week two taking on the Vikings, this is the best time to get the guys acquainted. The Eagles’ starters should be able to get a feel for how an actual game will be in South Philly as waiting until the Vikings would be too risky.
While we don’t have an update on when Jason Kelce’s elbow surgery will take place; Sirianni shared how resilient the center is, “He’s the toughest guy I’ve ever been around.” Sirianni also reinstated that Kelce will return week 1 and seems confident about that statement.
The countdown continues since we’re only two days out until we get our first real view as to what the Eagles starters will bring to the field even if it’s only for a few snaps.
