Tim McManus Talks to us About AJ Brown and Jalen Hurt’s Chemistry
Tim McManus has been joining us daily during Eagles training camp to give us updates. Today he spoke about the chemistry between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown, a player to keep an eye on, the corners dominating in camp, and more. This is what he had to say today on The Best Show Ever.
On the chemistry between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown
“Off the field, they are best friends. That part is easy for them. On the field chemistry they are working really hard at… Honestly it looks really good right now. If training camp is anything like the regular season. If those two things correlate in anyway. AJ Brown is going to get the ball a ton. Hes been Jalen Hurts favorite target during the summer. Especially today with Devonta Smith not on the field, it was Hurts to AJ Brown all day.
A lot of what they are doing is the shorter rhythm passes, with Hurts just getting the ball out of his hands so that he can get it and run with it. He is one of the better run after the catch WRs in the NFL. I think the Eagles intend on taking advantage of that.”
On if Britain Covey could be someone who steals a roster spot
“The Eagles were talking really high of him coming out of Spring. And today was his best day of the summer by a long shot. Not only was he the first guy up during punt returns. But he made a couple of really nice catches… There was enough buzz generated during the spring where it was like all right, maybe this guy makes the team…. If they keep 6 WRs if he continues to come on, theres been enough coaches talking about him that he has an outside shot of making this team.”
