Brandon Brooks ready to come back stronger
“I’ve been to hell and back so many times in my life from different things.”
As Brandon Brooks heads into surgery today to repair his torn left Achilles, he is getting fired up just like when he tore his right Achilles and came back in just 8 months to start last season and make his third straight Pro Bowl.
“I remember when I did my first Achilles, all the doubt and negativity around it,” Brooks said in a text to NBC Sports Philadelphia. “Like omg is he going to be the same? Will he take half the season to be back to where he was? Will he miss the whole season? Now, it’s, well, he was training too hard? Lol”
This is the third serious injury that Brandon has suffered in the last year and a half. He is more determined than ever at age 30 to attack his rehab and come back just as strong.
“When you’ve walked on the dark side so many times, your eyes adjust and you see light when there’s no light. It’s to the point now when I take that lonely walk through hell, I see the devil himself and let him know: ‘I’m back to tear this mfer up once again.’ And for him to say, ‘F—, not this mfer again.’
“I welcome s— like this, so I bring it like others want to, what others can’t”
