Natalie’s Notes: ICYMI 5/13/18-5/18/18

The Supreme Court Overturned a 25 year old federal law prohibiting sports betting outside of Nevada.

New Jersey Senate and Assembly plan to hold votes on new legislation setting rules for regulation on June 7^th.
New Jersey casinos and tracks would not be subject to a customary waiting period.
Several casinos and tracks are ready to take bets immediately.
Pennsylvania has no estimated date to begin but is “a step ahead” thanks to a bill signed by Gov. Tom Wolf, which authorizes sports gambling upon federal legislation.

Surgeries

Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett had sports hernia surgery after the season. He should be recovered and ready for training camp.
Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham had surgery on his right ankle after suffering a high ankle sprain on Christmas night against the Raiders. He could miss spring workouts but aims to be ready for training camp in July.
Sixers Forward Robert Covington had surgery on the extensor tendon of his left middle finger. He has immediate use of his hand and will wear a splint while recovering.

White House Super Bowl Victory Invitation

The White House has extended an official invitation to the Philadelphia Eagles for June 5^th to celebrate their Super Bowl victory. Malcolm Jenkins has already declined the invitation.
