Brett Brown: “We need help to win a championship.”
Less than 48 hours after the Sixers season ending game against the Boston Celtics in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, Head Coach Brett Brown is already looking at building for the future.
When speaking to the media on Friday, Brown said;
“I think another high level free agent is required, I think we have the ability to attract one.”
He then goes on to cite the many reasons the Sixers would be an attractive destination for a high level free agent including a modern style of play, the culture of the Sixers organization being a “family”, and last but certainly not least, the City of Philadelphia and “sports mad” fans. He closes the statement saying the Sixers need help to win a championship.
Building toward next year starts in just 4 short days with the NBA Draft Lottery. The Sixers currently have the protected rights to the Lakers pick. The NBA Draft takes place June 21st and finally, the free agency frenzy will begin July 1st.
Get ready Sixers fans, there is no such thing as an “off season” anymore.
