CULVER CITY, CA - APRIL 17: A general view on the set of the "Jeopardy!" Million Dollar Celebrity Invitational Tournament Show Taping on April 17, 2010 in Culver City, California.

See what Andrew Salciunas found in the Audio Vault today. For today’s vault, he gathered some of the best Jeopardy! fails when it comes to sports questions.

Jeopardy! is a great show. It is not quite the same without Alex Trebek, but even still it is the goat of Game Shows. And one thing that is consistent with Jeopardy, is contestants not knowing the answer to sports questions. Some of the smartest people out there will compete on Jeopardy. They can answer tough questions about 16th-century literature, obscure science topics, and tough history questions. But ask them what offsides is in Football, and they will crumble. It makes for great TV, and there was a recent example of just that where contestants could not answer what sport certain terms came from.

And after watching that, Andrew decided to gather up that, and some other legendary sports fails, and even some successes, to play in the Audio Vault today. From people thinking Magic Johnson played Hockey, to people being left speechless when asked what a forward pass is, to a group of 3 very smart people not knowing a pick-off play is a Baseball term.

There is something satisfying about seeing intelligent people out of their element. Which is why today’s Audio vault was dedicated to just that. Join Anthony And Andrew as they listen to some of the best Sports Fails from Jeopardy’s history.

  • They Don't Know Any Sports Terms

On of the categories Jeopardy used called In the Sport. They gave the contestants sports terms, and they had to give the sport they come from. The contestants did not have a good job, with no correct answers being given.

  • Contestants Left Speechless With Football Category

There is a reason Alex Trebek is the greatest host of all time. The fact the contestants had no clue on any of the Football questions makes this funny. But what makes it even better is Trebek’s snark replies as they fail to get any questions right.

  • Contestants Actually Get It Right!

But maybe people are improving. because recently there was a Category called Football and Football on Jeopardy, and the contestants got them right?

  • "What is Oklahoma?"

Everyone knows that Nebraska are Cornhuskers right? Apparently not. Because one College Kid on Jeopardy was asked who the Cornhuskers are, and very confidently answered Oklahoma.

  • "Who is Magic Johnson?"

Who got 100+ assists in an NHL season 11 times? it certainly wasn’t Magic Johnson. But that is the answer on man gave. To be fair, he at least got the assist part right. You can kind of see how one could hear the word assist and first think Magic Johnson. But the word NHL season probably should have been the giveaway Magic Johnson was not the right answer.
