Week 9 Eagles Power Rankings Round Up- On The Rise
For the first time in over a year, there is real reason to feel good about the Eagles. 2 straight wins of 20 points or more. They have dominated two teams that despite bad records, have kept it close with everyone else in the league. But have they gotten the attention of the National Media? Here is your week 9 Eagles Power Rankings Round-Up.

“Barkley has been sensational. He is second to only the Ravens’ Derrick Henry in rushing yards (766) and rushing yards per game (109.4). Barkley has posted 100-plus scrimmage yards in six of the first seven games, becoming just the third Eagle ever to do so. Philadelphia has shifted to more of a run-heavy identity as a result of his success, helping it rip off three straight wins.”
The Barkley signing has been as good as you can possibly hope. He has changed the landscape of this offense. They were a good running team the last two years, but very reliant on the blocking working. While the O-Line is elite, no O-line is perfect. Now they have the great back to go along with the great line.

“The Eagles looked good in blowing out the Bengals on the road. The offense is starting to click again. Watch out for them as they seem to be getting it right.”
The offense averages 29.75 points with AJ Brown. They average under 20 without him. This offense might have figured something out now that they are healthy. Having that extra threat takes this offense to a whole other level. These last two games were without Dallas Goedert, so they could still get even better.

“Jalen Hurts had one of his cleanest games, and all the big-play weapons who were healthy shared the offensive load. When the Eagles play this type of three-phase football, they’re tough to beat.“
Hurts has looked like his old self. Not only is he protecting the Football, but he is still pushing it down the field. He has 4 TDs of at least 40 yards in the past 3 games, and 3 of those had 40+ Air Yards. You could argue no QB has looked as good as him since they came out of the bye week.
USA Today- 10 (Previously 11)
“Maybe The City of Brotherly Love should start showing a little more to HC Nick Sirianni and Co. A coach once vilified, among other things, for refusing to run the ball oversees a team with the most rushes per game (34.3) in the league. Philly didn’t lose or turn the ball over once in October.“
Yep, credit to Sirianni. As frustrating as he has been, he seems to have gotten things under control. His decision-making has been great the past few weeks, going for it in good places, but also taking the points when it makes sense. We don’t know how much control he has over the offense, but he has either coached better or trusted his Coordinators more to run things. Either way, it reflects well on him.
Sports Illustrated- 10 (Previously 10)
“This Cooper DeJean tackle on Ja’Marr Chase has powerful healing properties and, if the Eagles end up making a deep run to the postseason, we will run that ad nauseam.“
Cooper DeJean has been such a difference-maker so far. He is a massive upgrade over Avonte Maddox, who sadly due to multiple injuries has clearly lost a step. DeJean has been near perfect as the nickel cornerback so far, making key plays in every game, including this huge tackle that started the Eagles truly taking over the game.

“Over the Bengals’ final four possessions Sunday, after they tied the game 17-17, Philadelphia allowed 36 yards and no points on 11 plays. The Eagles’ defense has been coming on strong the past couple of weeks.“
The most impressive thing about Fangio is his ability to adjust. They have been running his scheme for a while, but his proteges like Gannon and Desai seemed to struggle to adjust in game. That has not been an issue with Fangio. His defense got torn apart early, but then he adjusted, and the Eagles shut down the Bengals the rest of the way.
