NASCAR star  Jimmie Johnson, is experiencing a tragic loss. Police in Oklahoma believe Johnson's mother-in-law Terry Janway shot and killed her husband, Jack Janway, and their grandson Dalton late Monday night (6/26) at the family's Oklahoma home.

According to People, Terry, 68, was found dead inside the residence along with her husband, Jack, 69, and their 11-year-old grandson Dalton. Terry and Jack are the parents of Johnson's wife, Chandra, who married Johnson in 2004.

Muskogee police officer Lynn Hamlin talked with People and told the publication that the department received a 911 from a woman they believe was Terry. She said the woman stated there was a disturbance and someone had a gun. The caller then hung up.

Hamlin then said that police arrived at the home after 9 pm and found an "individual laying dead in a hallway" and then heard another gunshot go off inside the house. Police are investigating it as a murder-suicide, and Terry is believed to have pulled the trigger on both her husband and grandson.

Marlon Coleman, the Mayor of Muskogeetold, the local TV station Fox 23, "It was traumatizing to find out that a long-standing family who had made so many contributions to our community were involved in this type of incident. It was even more bone-chilling to find out there was a child involved."

The Muskogee Public Schools released a statement Monday saying in part, "Muskogee Public Schools mourns the loss of Dalton Janway, who died Monday night. Dalton was a fifth-grade student at Sadler Arts Academy who was cherished by his teachers and fellow classmates. Our heart goes out to the entire Rougher community who knew him as a friend and classmate."
