James Harden Redeems Himself, Lifts Sixers To Game 4 Win
After game 3, all anyone was talking about was how bad James Harden looked. You won’t hear that same talk after game 4. Harden dropped another 40-point night. This time scoring 42, including the game-winning 3. It put the Sixers up 116-115. And while Marcus Smart did get a chance at the other end, he could not get it out of his hands before the clock read 0.00.
And they needed him to show up badly. Maxey struggled from the floor again, going 6 of 17. And while Embiid looked great through 3 quarters, Al Horford had his number in the 4th quarter. Horford rejected Embiid multiple times that frame. The Sixers ended up scoring just 15 in the final quarter, letting the Celtics come back to force OT.
For a moment it looked like the Sixers wouldn’t even get to OT. The Celtics held the lead for much of the 4th after trailing all game. A PJ Tucker putback plus an and one tied the game. But then Marcus Smart drew the foul and hit both FTs to make it a two-point game. Embiid tried to score the equalizer, but Horford rejected him again. Maxey scooped it up though, and got the ball to Harden. And he did what he was doing all game. Drove, and scored, to tie it up and force OT.
OT felt like it was not going the Sixers’ way either though. Joel Embiid got called on a very questionable charge. Turning what should have been a score plus a foul, into a turnover. Not long after, Jayson Tatum got away with a blatant push-off and hit the 3 putting the Celtics up 2. But then Harden played hero again. Embiid passed out of a double team to Harden in the corner, and he did not blink. James Harden nailed the triple, that would go on to be the game-winner.

Now the Sixers head back to Boston. They will play game 5 there on Tuesday. If they win that, they will have a chance to end the series when they return to Philly on Thursday. But for now, they avoided a disaster in game 4, and tie the series up at 2 a piece.
