In his Opening Diatribe this morning, Anthony Gargano reacted to Tyrese Maxey coming to the Sixers rescue last night...

"One of the things that I want to start with, is last night. What a weird wild, strange, odd, bizarre game it was. Joel was on the floor all night. He was like a mop. The ejection of James Harden was absolutely ridiculous. Just a bizarre night of basketball. What looked to be a Sixers blowout, almost went sideways. but in the end, it was all about Tyrese Maxey.

Yes, Tyrese Maxey. Who is one of those guys who is universally beloved by everyone. Very few people on the planet Earth is above the hate. But Tyrese Maxey is. He is universally beloved by everyone in Philadelphia. Guess what, he deserves. Last night he single-handedly saved the Sixers. He won that game single-handedly. Not just by his 25 points. Harden went out, and Maxey took over. He dominated the basketball as this combo whirling dervish of a guard. Where the offense ran through him. He called his own number, he was just terrific.

The Sixers were down 92-87. With 5 minutes to go. Look at all the plays. Maxey set up Joel for the 16-footer. Then Maxey makes a floater. But then Bridges comes back, O'-Neal had the tip. it was 96-91. 2:15 to go to the game. I am thinking they are going to blow this game. Just imagine how bad our day was going to be. You don't mind a gentleman's sweep, but this was a game they had.

It didn't matter. Maxey to the rescue. H buries a triple. It's 96-94. He grabs a steal, and makes the layup. It's now tied. After a timeout, 44 seconds to go, buries a stepback triple. Maxey Splash. 99-96..."

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets Round 1 Schedule

The Philadelphia 76ers are BACK in the playoffs and have locked up the 3 seed. The team will take on the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The Nets will be without Ben Simmons who doesnt want to play basketball is dealing with another injury. The rest of the makeshift roster is led by former Villanova standout, and Sixers draft pick Mikal Bridges. Even with Bridges elevating his play since coming over in the Kevin Durant deal, the team didnt see a ton of wins in the column.

Hopefully the Sixers can wrap this up in 4 games, but just in case, here is the schedule for the first round series!

Game 1: Saturday at 1pm in Philadelphia

Game 1 starts this SATURDAY for some day basketball! It will be broadcasted live on ESPN

Game 2: Monday at 7:30pm in Philadelphia

After the Sixers take a 1 game lead (I hope) theyll have one day off before game 2 tips off at 7:30 on TNT.

Game 3: Thursday at 7:30 in Brooklyn

The Sixers will then head up to Brooklyn for game 3, and get 2 days off in between games. The game will be on TNT

Game 4: Saturday at 1pm in Brooklyn

Could the Sixers close it out in game 4? We hope. Just like games 2 and 3 it will be on TNT

Game 5: Monday, TBD in Philadelphia

Well if they need a game 5 it will be Monday. While we dont know the official tip off time we can say with GREAT confidence that it wont be 1pm. Likely a 7 or 7:30 tip off. No word on who will broadcast this game on TV but the Fanatic has you covered ALWAYS

Game 6: Thursday, TBD in Brooklyn

The Sixers once again have a lot of time in between games as they prepare to head to Brooklyn. But they wont need it. Were just talking hypotheticals here. And hypothetically speaking, if they need this one it will be Thursday in Brooklyn. No word on start time or TV broadcast.

Game 7: Saturday, TBD in Philadelphia

If we need this game lord help us all. But if the series goes 7 it will be broadcast on TNT. No word on start time.
