The Midday Show With Andrew Salciunas – Weekdays 10am – 2pm

Weekdays 10am-2pm

GLENDALE, AZ - JANUARY 18: Quarterback Donovan McNabb #5 of the Philadelphia Eagles is tackled by defensive end Bertrand Berry #92 and Gerlad Hayes #54 of the Arizona Cardinals during the NFC championship game on January 18, 2009 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

With the Eagles’ playoff run staying alive, Andrew Salciuans continued his trip through past Eagles’ playoff runs in The Audio Vault. Last week they went through the 4 runs in the NFC Championship game under Andry Reid in the early 2000s. But they would make the NFC Championship game one more time with Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb. In 2008. And they replayed the sounds of that Playoff run in today’s Audio Vault.

2008 Wild Card Game vs The Vikings

The 2008 run started with a Wild Card win over the Vikings. The Eagles had to claw into the playoffs as the Wild Card and went into the playoffs on fire after tearing apart the Cowboys in the final week. They were road favorites traveling to Minnesota. And they did not disappoint. They beat the Vikings 26-14 off 4 David Akers field goals, a Brian Westbrook TD, and an Asante Samuel pick-6 off Tavaris Jackson. Here is what Andrew found in the Vault from this game.

  • Joe Buck’s Intro to the Game
  • Asante Samuel 44 yard Pick 6 off of Tavaris Jackson
  • Brian Westbrook goes 71 yards on a Screen Pass for a TD to ice the game

2008 Divisional Round Game vs the Giants

Much like this year, the Eagles ran into the Giants in the divisional round in 2008. But unlike this year, the Eagles were the road team and underdog. But unlike the Giants this year, the Eagles managed to pull off the upset. They beat the Giants 23-11, holding the Giants to no touchdowns, and just 3 field goals plus a Safety. The Eagles meanwhile saw both Mcnabb and Brent Celek find the end zone, plus several Akers field goals. Here is what Andrew found in the Audio Vault from this game.

  • Joe Buck’s Intro to the Game
  • Brent Celek’s 1-yard TD to make it 20-11 in the 4th Quarter

The Cardinals Eliminate the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game

But like in 3 of the 4 NFC Championships before this, the NFC Championship ended in heartbreak. Kurt Warner’s Cardinals beat the Eagles 32-25. Thanks in large part to Larry Fitzgerald scoring 3 TDs against us, all in the first half. The Eagles led the game late into the 4th after a DeSean Jackson 62-yard TD. But the Cardinals scored with under 3 minutes to score, and the Eagles could not come back. Here is what Andrew grabbed from the Audio Vault for this game.

  • Intro to the Game
  • One of Larry Fitzgerald’s TDs
