The Audio Vault- Highest Scoring Game in NCAA History
See what Andrew Salciuans found in The Audio Vault today. Including sounds from the highest-scoring game in NCAA history, and some plays from a notable Eagles’ Wildcard game vs the Lions, with the NFL Playoffs starting this weekend. Here is the lineup from today’s Vault.
The Eagles Beat the Lions 58-37
Back in 1995, The Eagles beat the Lions 58-37. At the time it was the highest-scoring playoff game ever. And it is still the second highest, with the Packers-Cardinals Wild Card game in 2009 passing it by 1 point. A lot of the scoring took place in the 2nd quarter, where the Eagles put up 31 points, to head into the half up 38-7. At one point it got to 51-7. But the Lions did put up at least a little bit of a fight in the second half. They scored 30 in the half, though they still lost by 21 points. The game included multiple pick-sixes, including one by Barry Willburn in the 2nd quarter, and another in the 4th by Williams Thomas. And Andrew played both of those plays in the Audio Vault today.
Highest Scoring Game In College Basketball History
On Jan 12th, 1992, the highest-scoring game in NCAA Basketball history took place. Troy State beat Devry 258-141. There was so much scoring the scoreboard couldn’t keep up. At the end of the game the scoreboard read 141-58. But both teams scored so much more than that. The game set multiple records that will likely never be broken. And Andrew pulled the call from the end of the game for the Vault today.
Happy Birthday Dan Klecko
Yesterday was Dan Klecko’s birthday, and Andrew missed it in the Vault. So to make up for it, Andrew pulled his TD in the 2006 AFC Championship game vs the patriots as a member of the Colts which tied the game that the Colts would eventually win, to advance to the Superbowl where they beat the Bears.
