Keith Pompey Talks Sixers With Devon Givens
The Sixers are on a long winning streak, and Tyrese Maxey is close to returning from injury. Everything should be sweet in Sixers’ land. But a Christmas day report by Woj about James Harden contemplating leaving the Sixers for the Rcokets in the offseason has some fans in a slight panic. And to discuss all of that, Devon Givens talked to Keith Pompey today when he filled in on “The Best Show Ever?”
What The Sixers Are Doing Different That has Them Playing Well Right Now…
“The biggest difference with the Sixers at this particular time is the development of James Harden and Joel Embiid. Initially, when they started out, they didn’t look like they fit well. Right now, Joel is getting buckets left and right, and James has turned into an assist machine. Also, James is not only getting Joel involved, he is doing a better job of getting rid of the ball earlier. He is doing a better job of getting guys like Tobias Harris involved. To me that is the biggest difference between that team beforehand and now.”
On Report That Harden Might Want To Return To Houston This Offseason
“It is one of those things where you want to go to the place where you are going to make the most money. (The Rockets) are going to have so much money under the cap, to where that may be the best place for him. I hope I am not speaking for him. But you let the Sixers know that hey, I took a discount here so we can get two more players here. You need to know I have some options, and I am not going to take a discount again. If that is the case, I can’t be mad at him. Everyone says look at all the money he has made. But this is probably going to be his last payday. You have to take advantage of every oppurtunity you get.”
They also discussed the return of the upcoming return of Tyrese Maxey and more. To hear everything Keith Pompey had to say, you can listen to the full interview below.
