Bo Wulf Discusses What Stood Out in Win Over The Bears
The Eagles beat the Bears on Sunday, getting them just one win away from the top seed in the NFC East. And to break down the game, Bo Wulf from The Athletic joined “The Best Show Ever?”. What stood out to him? Bo Wulf discusses Hurts being banged up, the Eagles’ pass rush, and more. Here is some of what he had to say.
On Eagles Pass Rush
“On defense, that Bears offensive line is bad. Justin Fields has gotten sacked a ton all year long. But still, if you are thinking of how this team could win in the playoffs, that pass rush is a big part of it. They lead the league in sacks. Haason Reddick had 2, Josh Sweat had 2, and Javon Hargrave had 2. Those guys and the ability that they have to rotate fresh legs out there are going to make a difference in the playoffs.
Reddick has been awesome. He has been for the defense what AJ Brown has been for the offense. He’s been the missing piece. The ability he has to get to the Qb and attract attention from opposing offensive gameplans. Also opens up 1 on 1 opportunities for guys like Josh Sweat on the other side. I think he has been everything the Eagles could have hoped for and more.”
On Impact of AJ Brown
“He has been so good. This game was another example of the ways he helps Jalen Hurts. Obviously Hurts has made his own leap. But to have a guy like AJ Brown who can win downfield, just like Devonta Smith can, but also those slants… It is such an easy money play for them to go to. And AJ Brown is so good at that. Last year Jalen Hurts was not as willing to throw the ball over the middle of the field. He has been much more willing to do that this year. Aj brown plays a large part in that. He raises the ceiling of this offense.”
