Zach Berman Previews the Eagles-Bears Game
The Eagles travel to Chicago to take on the Bears this weekend. And to preview that game, Zach Berman from The Athletic joined The Anthony Gargano Show. They discussed the latest updates on the injured Eagles, and Zach Berman gave his preview for the game itself. Here is what he had to say.
On Some People Calling Jalen Hurts a “System QB”
“I think that when you talk about Jalen, obviously he is in a system that is built around him. He has got great wide receivers. One of the best offensive lines in the league. But he is the engine. You can’t take him out of the equation. If you talk about Patrick Mahomes. The fact that Andy Reid is the coach certainly helps. But it has helps to have that right arm on his shoulder.”
On the Various Eagles’ Injuries This Week
“My sense is you will see Goedert back this week. They have that spot on the 53 waiting for him. He was at practice yesterday, he was out there today. Doesn’t sound like there has been any hiccups. My guess is Goedert gets activated tommorow. It does not sound as good for Reed Blankenship. I would look out for Kvon Wallace, Andre Chachere maybe a possible call up for Anthony Harris. And then at punter they will have Brett Kern out there. And then there is nothing worry about with Lane Johnson.”
On Sunday’s Game vs the Bears
“The Eagles are such a superior roster. The only way I see this game staying close… is if (The Bears) are controlling the clock. If Justin Fields can break out a few runs. And then if the Eagles have some uncharacteristic turnovers. Which was similar to what happend in that Washington game when they lost. Otherwise I dont see a way the Eagles lose this game, or the Bears even keep it close. The Eagles have such an advantage on both lines of scrimmage. And they have an adavantage at the skill spots.
The thing you worry about when you play the Bears is Justin Fields running around. But I dont think they have defensivly what it takes. Especially on the defensive front. And then they dont have the skill guys or the offensive line. I give the Eagles a huge edge here. I would be surprised if this game is within single digits.”
