The Best Show Ever?

2pm - 6pm

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - OCTOBER 09: Quarterback Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles throws a pass over linebacker Isaiah Simmons #9 of the Arizona Cardinals during the second half of the NFL game at State Farm Stadium on October 09, 2022 in Glendale, Arizona. The Eagles defeated the Cardinals 20-17.

Feelings have been mixed in the city after the Eagles’ win in Arizona. On one hand, a win is a win and they are now 5-0. But on the other, it was not a pretty win, and there were some concerning developments in the game. So to get the scoop on how to treat this win over the Cardinals, “The Best Show Ever?” talked to Bo Wulf from The Athletic. He talked about the close win, hope the defense played, Jalen Hurts maturity and more. Here is what Bo Wulf had to say.

On if There Is A Reason To Be Worried About How They Played…

I wouldn’t say I am worried about it. I would say I am not blown away by it. When you go up 14-0, and you let the Cardinals hang around you have to be a little bit concerned. You worry a little bit about that it took so long to get the running game going. But it is true that a win is a win. Especially on the road. You get these wins, you stack them up, and see how it shakes out at the end of the season. Jalen Hurts played a pretty good game yesterday. He was harassed. They didn’t do a great job of picking up those blitzes. It was not as dominating of a win as I was expecting over an uninspiring Cardinals team. But I certainly think you take it.

On If The Defense Was Too Soft Against the Cardinals

“I think they were very concerned about Kyler Murray scrambling. And we know it is in Gannon’s DNA to prevent the big play as much as possible. But this Cardinals offense through the first 4 games of the season had the fewest big plays in the passing game in the league. So I think they were too concerned about that. And it’s not just them being a little bit soft in coverage. I thought the pass rush died down a little bit… If you are expecting the ball to come out quickly you want to make sure the coverage on the outside is pressing and expecting the ball to come out quickly. it didn’t seem like that was the case in this game. I think that and some tackling issues were some of the big concerns coming out of this game.”
