Final Carson Wentz Snap Tracker
By Dylan MacKinnon
We did it! Wentz passed the projected 75% mark. And while it is technically possible he could fall under it, it would be incredibly difficult for the Colts to fit enough snaps into the final 3 weeks to drop him under 75% even if he doesn’t play another snap. Eagles will now have three first round picks in the next draft. The only question is where those picks will be. On that front the news is not as good, but we will get to that in a bit. For now, here are the updated numbers on Wentz’s snap count.
Week 14 Snap Count
Season Snap Count
He sits at 80.4% of the projected total. Wentz has a buffer of 302 snaps he could miss before he falls below 75%. Meaning the Colts would have to average about 101 snaps per game for him to fall below 75%. So far they have averaged 66.4 snaps per game. They are on track to play a total of 1,128 snaps. So while it is possible to still fall below 75%, he wont.
The problem will be where the pick falls. There is a fairly decent chance the Colts make the playoffs now. They currently hold the first wild card spot. Although since they played Saturday they have one more game than everyone else. There are 6 teams in the hunt for 3 wildcard spots who are all 7-6 or in the Colts situation, 8-6. To improve the Colts pick, Eagles fans should root for the Bengals, Browns, Chargers, Bills, and Broncos.
The Colts still have to play the Cardinals, Raiders, and Jaguars. The Jaguars game will presumable be a win. Ideally Colts would lose to both the other teams though. Because if they go 2-1, a 10-7 record could very likely be good enough to get them one of those playoff spots. As of now the pick would be 23rd overall.
