ESPN Wants Peyton Manning for Monday Night Football

The Sports Business Journal says ESPN is trying to woo two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning to join their Monday Night Football broadcast team.

Manning has hosted two different shows on ESPN’s Plus streaming service but has turned down ESPN for a major broadcast position in the past.

Word is that CBS Sports wanted Manning, too.

As time went on without a commitment from Manning CBS Sports decided to extend former Cowboy Tony Romo’s contract for more than $17 million.
