Wawa Hoagie Day has become the talk of the city of Philadelphia.
The area’s perennial favorite hoagie destination has made roughly 25,000 hoagies weighing seven tons to hand out to the public for free on June 28.
Wawa will start handing out the signature shorties at 12 pm on Wednesday, June 28 at the corner of 6th Street and Arch Street in the Old City section of Philadelphia.
Anyone who attends can also enter the Constitution Center for free from 10am-5pm.
The event is a great chance for the whole family to enjoy the story of national history just a few days before the 4th of July in America’s birthplace.
Wawa Hoagie Day Excites 97.5 The Fanatic Hosts
Andrew Salciunas and Jamie Lynch joined in on the fun with a hard-hitting discussion about their go-to orders from the Philadelphia area’s most reliable spot for a hoagie.
The guys never shy away from the best food topics in Philly sports radio. Jamie is the reigning “Sizzli King” of the Philadelphia area, and Andrew never resists a good touchscreen order to turn around a tough day.
Maybe it was the hoagies and soft pretzels they ate at the 97.5 The Fanatic studio in the morning, but they showed more passion about their Wawa preferences than the Philadelphia 76ers did in the final two games of the Boston Celtics series.
They posed the questions to each other.
They posed the questions to producer Ray Dunne.
The conversation went back and forth with insightful food takes, but they couldn’t possibly decide the personal preference of all Philadelphians unanimously when they talked about the burning questions:
What’s your go-to Wawa order?
Is there an order you save for a special type of situation?
Whether local residents want to admit it or not, they probably have a clear answer to both these questions.
