ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joined the John Kincade Show for his weekly hit (Wednesdays at 8:10am) and discussed all the going on’s around the league. One of the things is the debut of the hit HBO series “Hard Knocks.” This season may interest Eagles fans because the team that is being featured is the Birds week 1 opponent, the Detroit Lions. Schefter discussed his thoughts on the series and what kind of access fans TRULY get.
“I love Hard Knocks… Here’s the deal; even when you cover a team, I remember covering a Denver Broncos team that I was living around, even then, I don’t think you get the access to a team that Hard Knocks gets and that you see.”
He then talked about O-Line depth. The Eagles have a lot of it and one of those depth pieces is former first round pick Andre Dillard. With the injury to Jets starter Mekhi Becton it has some Eagles fans wondering if Joe Douglas would have interest in trading for Dillard after he took him for the Eagles with their first round pick.
“I would doubt it, just because teams are slow to give up offensive line depth because it’s so hard to come by… You lose a player who you had hoped would be something, but let’s be honest here. I think they were more hopeful on [Mekhi Becton] than they were dependent on him. Philly has done a great job of acquiring depth, I just don’t know if they do something like that.”
