UFC Long Island is a really solid card and the best part is, its during the day! Nights are freed up!!!! It is headlined by the #1 contender fight for the Featherweight belt. Yair Rodriguez takes on Brian Ortega but the fight card is pretty loaded from top to bottom.

Here are some specifics. The prelims start at 11:00am with the main card is at 2:oo pm . All of the action can be seen on ABC

I will give you my predictions in the order the fights are to take place. All odds are courtesy of Bet MGM. The King of Sports Books! For new users head on over there and use the promocode PatEgan and get your first bet RISK FREE up to $1K

114-86 this year. 41-19 on locks.

In 2021 I hit on 60% of picks. In 2021 I hit on 61% of “locks” (so a lot of people had keys to that lock.)

(8-3 last fight card. 3-0 on locks)

  • Shane Burgos vs. Charles Jourdain

What a BANGER of a fight we have here. Shane Burgos is a beast. An impressive striker who got back in the win column against Billy Quarantillo. Its not like Jourdain is a slouch. 13-4-1 on who is on a 2 fight win streak. I think Jourdain is the better all around fighter but Burgos’ striking is on another level and I believe he gets to Jourdain early and stymies his gameplan.

    Shane Burgos

  • Matt Schnell vs. Sumudaerji

I really like Matt Schnell. But since taking a step up in competition he has fallen short. Brandon Royval ran through him. Sumudaerji is on a 3 fight win streak and this is a good matchup of a get right fight but a step up for his opponent. Based on experience I like Schnell. Hes grown as a fighter and his last fight he went in with a lot of emotion because his mother had recently passed away. I think he gets back in the win column.

    Matt Schnell

  • Jingliang Li vs. Muslim Salikhov

No one will blame Jingliang Li for losing to Chimaev. But Li is going to have to rely on his striking thanks to Salikhov’s takedown defense. Luckily for Li, Salikhov isnt a wrestler. He can take a guy down but this is primarily going to be a striking matchup. If its a striking matchup it favors Salikhov. I think it goes to a decision in a slug fest and Salikhov eeks out a win

    Muslim Salikhov

  • Michelle Waterson vs. Amanda Lemos

Is this another really even matchup. Waterson has faced some of the best in the division and came up short. Lemos was on a hot streak until running into Jessica Andrade who is a former champion. Waterson is more volume where Lemos is more power. But I like Waterson to keep the distance thanks to her karate style. Accumulating volume and getting hit, but not finished.

    Michelle Waterson

  • Brian Ortega vs. Yair Rodriguez

Ortega got outclassed by Alexander Volkanovski in his last fight. Which, we recently found out, isnt a knock. Ortega came close to finishing Volkanovski but overall, he got pieced up. Very similarly to what happened to Yair Rodriguez against Max Holloway. The UFC PR machine will make you think that fight was close, but it wasnt. Yair is an exciting fighter with an unorthodox style but Ortega is on another level. Not just with his BJJ skills but in the Korean Zombie fight he showed improved striking. I like Ortega to get the finish in this one.
