Hockey Fights Cancer- Honoring John Kincade

The Philadelphia Flyers hosted their annual "Hockey Fights Cancer" night. This year, the Flyers honored one of our own at the station, John Kincade. The Flyers ended up falling to the Hurricanes 4-1. Head coach John Tortorella summed it up best with how the game's relevance doesn't matter when seeing those battling Cancer. The Flyers signed 9-year-old youth hockey player Owen Micciche for Tuesday's contest. Micciche is currently battling Cancer but has good spirits. The 9-year-old is the captain of his 10UA team. Micciche took the ice for his rookie lap before the contest between Philadelphia and Carolina. Micciche later took his spot on the bench, helping coach the team alongside Tortorella. Owen said his goal was to get back on the ice when he finishes his battle with Cancer. https://twitter.com/NHLFlyers/status/1729669037171302841 https://twitter.com/NHLFlyers/status/1729658898838102459 Secondly, 97.5 The Fanatic's John Kincade was recognized after going 3-0 against Cancer. Kincade hosts the morning show at 97.5 The Fanatic and never missed a beat during his battle. Kincade was gifted his custom Flyers jersey with signatures from the entire team. https://twitter.com/Haleytsimon/status/1729680365504077952   In addition to those honored, the Flyers gave out rally towels to all those in attendance. The towels read, "I Fight For," and a spot to insert a name. The cameras at the Wells Fargo Center captured towels that read "Dad," "Grandpop," "Sister," and so much more. One of those who held the purple towel that said, "Me," was a child. This night is unique to those watching to see the outpour of support from the city of brotherly love. Flyers Charities and other donors donated $80,000 in grants to help those battling Cancer, research to cure Cancer, support groups, and more. All in all, the Flyers did a great job making the night special for those impacted by Cancer. It was a good night with Flyers alums Simon Gagne in the building, Gritty entertaining the crowd, and the Flyers players' support.   https://twitter.com/Haleytsimon/status/1729666758175232190
