Flyers Take Down Blue Jackets 5-3

Last night the Flyers hosted the Blue Jackets after facing a tough loss against the Rangers Saturday night. The Flyers looked good last night with regaining forward, Wade Allison, whose been out do to injury. Travis Konecny had himself a great game with getting the Flyers on the board late in the first period.
Columbus did strike back in the beginning of the second period getting a 2-1 lead, but Morgan Frost had other plans of making notably one of the best goals in the game allowing Philadelphia to get their momentum back and Owen Tippett being able to give the Flyers a 3-2 lead heading into the final period of action.

Konecny got an unassisted goal early in the third followed by a Columbus goal, but Tippett’s empty netter solidified the Flyers’ win. The Flyers won 5-3 with great team effort on the ice. The performance the Flyers put on was the same grit and effort they had during their first few weeks of play this season.
With the injuries’ being so prevalent with the recent loss of Cam Atkinson; Philadelphia has been dealing with not only the developmental issues but lineup uncertainty heading into each of their matchups. Against the Rangers on Saturday; Kevin Hayes was a healthy scratch. There seems to be more to the story than is being said by Tortorella on the dynamic of this team. Tortorella’s coaching style is different than most NHL coaches and he will bench/scratch players that don’t play to his standards.
Overall, the guys who’ve adjusted to Tortorella’s coaching style have shined such as Konecny, DeAngelo, and Frost. It takes time to adjust to this style of aggressive play; but Tortorella knows what he’s doing.
The Flyers are in Toronto taking on the Maple Leafs kicking off a five game road trip. Puck drop in Toronto is at 2pm
