Last night the Flyers defeated the Avalanche 5-3, but what does this win actually mean? Without a doubt, the orange and black are one of the more complex teams to get feel for their identity. They are the same team that started off the season winning three in a row and a month later managed to accumulate a 10 game winless streak. With the Flyers taking dominance over Colorado throughout the whole game and had not only out scored the opposing team; they out played them in every way possible. The Flyers went 2-3 on their powerplay as the Avalanche only went 1-5.

Carter Hart had another fantastic game in net with a .906 save percentage. Hart has been the glue of the team; keeping the orange and black alive despite the struggles they’ve been having.

With the Flyers in the mist of their five game home stretch they are looking more put together as they were when they kicked things off defeating the Islanders a week ago. The return of Konecny and Laughton have been huge for Philadelphia as they continue to get their key players back.
The Flyers host the Capitals Wednesday. Puck drop it at 7pm.
