The momentum of the Flyers breaking their 10 game winless streak on Tuesday against the Islanders took a plummet as the Tampa Bay Lightning came to South Philadelphia. The Flyers started off the game with fight, which quickly vanished as the Lightning were puck dominate and were able to end the period with a goal. Despite Tampa’s goal; Hart played a great first period saving two potential Tampa goals.
History was made by Tampa’s Captian, Steven Stamkos, who got his 1,000th career NHL point. The celebration of this milestone cleared the Lightning’s bench for them to embrace their captain.

At least the Flyers didn’t allow this game to be a complete shutout as forward, Travis Konecny, got one behind Tampa’s all star goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy. Konecny made his return to the ice after being out for a few weeks due to an upper body injury. Despite the effort in the 3rd, the Lighting won the 60 minutes 4-1.

The game that transpired was not in the Flyers’ favor as the Lightning are a faster team with a lot more experience being successful together. This was a loss that shouldn’t be as concerning as the previous 10 game winless streak. This would’ve been a hard game for any of the NHL teams. With that in mind; you have two complete opposite teams on the ice. One team is a successful winning team, while the other is struggling to find themselves.
The leaders of the Metropolitan, the Devils, come to Philly on Saturday. Puck drop is at 7pm.
