“Club Tyrone” Celebrating 4 More Years of Shake Milton
It’s been a tough time out there for Club Tyrone the last few months. Nick Williams has been up and down from AAA. The Eagles drafted Andre Dillard, putting Club Tyrone member Jordan Mailata’s status in jeopardy. Roman Quinn has struggled to hit the ball in the major leagues. Adam Haseley got injured after his 1st game winning hit and is back in the minors. Jonah Bolden had a very tough time his 1st time in the NBA playoffs. That’s leaving out OG Club Tyrone captain Justin Anderson being traded away.
All that is over though because my guy Shake Milton has signed a 4-year contract with the Sixers! It is time to celebrate! Many people doubted Shake when he was drafted out of SMU. I always believed and that is why he was a Club Tyrone member even when he was down the Blue Coats. All the hard work and belief has finally paid off as he moves to the coveted #1 spot in Club Tyrone.
Will Shake Milton turn his 24.9 points per game in the G-league into 25 or more per game in the NBA? Sure. Will Shake Milton become a long-term starter in this league? Yes. Will Shake now make multiple all-star games? For sure. Will Shake make the Hall of Fame? I can’t imagine a scenario where it doesn’t happen. For those unfamiliar with his game, imagine an Iverson who goes to practice with more size and range. Soon it will be Wilt, Dr. J, Barkley, Iverson, Shake in the all time great Sixers list and it all started with Club Tyrone.
In all seriousness, I think Shake Milton has a shot to be a back end of the rotation contributor who will make everyone forget TJ McConnell. The Sixers will live and die with Simmons and Embiid, but every elite team has a player who develops that wasn’t expected. Fred VanVleet wasn’t drafted and yet he was making 3-pointers in an elimination game to win an NBA title.
I don’t know if Shake will ever do something that special, but he will have some moments.
