It is a new season for the Eagles, which also means new jersey numbers. Not just for all the free agents, and draft picks, who will be wearing an Eagles jersey for the first time. But also some guys who were here last year will be rocking a new number. Either by choice or in some cases because their original number was taken.

A Lot Of New Faces Means New Jersey Numbers Too

The Eagles signed 9 players in Free Agency so far. They also signed a bunch of future deals, 7 UDFAs, and drafted 8 players.

Many of the guys getting new numbers won’t make the team. But when it gets cut down to a 53-man roster, there are going to be many new faces still there.

For starters, guys like Saquon Barkley, Bryce Huff, Devin White, and CJ Gardner Johnson will for sure be there. As will most of the draft picks like Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper Dejean, Jalyx Hunt, among others.

Barely Enough Jersey Numbers To Go Around

The Eagles will go into camp with a 90-man roster. That eventually gets cut down to 53, but to start camp they will barely have enough numbers to go around.

The NFL making 0 an eligible number and loosening the restrictions on who can wear what jersey numbers, makes it a bit easier to hand out numbers. But they still have to occasionally double some up at the start of camp.

Not to mention that that 9 numbers have been retired by the Eagles, and a half dozen more are unofficially retired having not been worn in years. We know Kelce’s 62 will eventually be retired, and no one has touched 25 since LeSean McCoy, 12 since Randall Cunningham, or 9 since Nick Foles.

But the numbers that are available, have now been given out.

Here Are The New Jersey Numbers For The Eagles in 2024:

(Will be updated with jersey Numbers for drafted players)

0-EDGE- Bryce Huff

0 was up for grabs after D’Andre Swift left for Chicago. So now the Eagles' newest Edge rusher, Bryce Huff, becomes the 2nd Eagle to ever don the number. Huff wore 47 with the Jets last year. That number was available here if he wanted it, but he chose to switch it up and take the number 0.

Notable Eagles to Wear 0- D'Andre Swift

7-QB- Kenny Pickett

7 was also up for grabs. Haason Reddick wore it last year for the Birds. But with him heading to NY, it was available for Pickett to take over.

What is interesting is that it is a change for Pickett. All through College, and the Pros, he wore the number 8. But the next Eagle on this list laid claim to 8 before Kenny got here, forcing him into getting a fresh jersey number to go with his fresh start.

Notable Eagles to Wear 7- Haason Reddick, Mike Vick, Ron Jaworski, Jeff Garcia, Bobby Hoying

8-S- CJ Gardner-Johnson

This will not only be Gardner-Johnson's 4th team change in 4 years, but it will also be his 4th Jersey number. He wore 22 with the Saints, 23 with the Eagles, 2 with the Lions, and now 8 with the Eagles.

He talked about why he chose 8 in his introductory Press Conference. It is in honor of Kobe Bryant. CJ says he is ready to go into “Kobe Mode”.

Notable Eagles To Wear 8- Luis Zendejas, Donnie Jones, Arryn Siposs, Marcus Mariota

13-WR- Devante Parker

Parker is by no means a lock to make this team. Especially after they drafted 2 wrs. But if he does, he will wear 13.

It is a new number for Parker, who wore 11 with the Dolphins, and 1 last season with the Pats. 1 is Hurts’ number though, and 11 is Brown’s, so Parker had to change again. He picked 13. A number that opened up with Olamide Zaccheaus leaving via Free Agency.

Notable Eagles to Wear 13- Nelson Agholor, Travis Fulgham, Josh Huff

16- QB- Will Grier

It will be a tough road for Grier to make the roster. Hurts and Pickett are definitely ahead of him, and Tanner McKee likely is as well. Grier is more so here to help Kellen Moore get people up to speed with his offense.

But for however long he is here, he will wear 16. Which is now available with Quez Watkins leaving. Grier has previously worn 3, 19, and 4.

Notable Eagles To Wear 16- Norm Snead, Chad Hall, Quez Watkins

23-CB- Eli Ricks

Ricks' spot on the team could be in jeopardy. The Eagles added a decent amount to their secondary, between drafting Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, and Isaiah Rodgers being reinstated.

But Ricks did well for himself his rookie season despite being a UDFA thrown directly into the fire. So as long as he has even a decent camp, he should be safe. He will don a new number though. Ricks wore 39 last year but is switching to 23 now that Rashaad Penny is gone.

Notable Eagles to Wear 23: CJ Gardner Johnson, Rodney McLeod, Troy Vincent

26-RB- Saquon Barkley

Barkley wore 26 all through college, and all through his time with the Giants. That won’t change now that he is with the Eagles. The number was open anyway, but even if someone had been wearing 26, Barkley would have taken it from them anyway.

Terrell Edmunds wore it last season for his short stint with Philly.

Notable Eagles to Wear 26- Miles Sanders, Jay Ajayi, Lito Shepard

30- CB- Quinyon Mitchell

Mitchell's College number was 27, but that is currently worn by Zech McPhearson. Mitchell may have been able to take it as the 1st round pick, but instead he switches to 30, which was worn by Justin Evans last year.

McPhearson is not a lock to make the team. So if he doesn't, it will be interesting to see if Mitchell then takes 27. Don't buy your Mitchell jerseys yet.

Notable Eagles To Wear 30- Corey Clement, Brian Mitchell, Charlie Garner

33- DB- Cooper DeJean

DeJean wore 3 in college. That already belongs to Nolan Smith. So Dejean is just adding an extra 3 to make it 33. A number that might stick in his case. Nolan Smith isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and 33 is the natural progression from that.

Notable Eagles To Wear 33- Bradley Roby, Josiah Scott

34- CB-Isaiah Rodgers

Rodgers is finally off the exempt list after missing a year for a gambling suspension. Rodgers was a solid corner for the Colts before they released him. The Eagles jumped on signing him last year.

34 was the number he wore with the Colts, so he got to keep his original number.

Notable Eagles to Wear 34- Reno Mahe, Herschel Walker, Cre’Von LeBlanc

39-RB- WIll Shipley

Shipley wore the number 1 in college. That is obviously not available. So he switches to 39 for now. It was worn by Eli Ricks last year, but he switched to 23. Shipley could switch this if another number opens up, but he is never getting his college number here.

Notable Eagles to Wear 39- Quentin Demps, Sheldon Brown (temporary)

45- LB- Devin White

White was the 5th overall pick in 2019, but has yet to live up to that hype. The Eagles hope they can unlock his impressive tools, and make him into the elite weakside Linebacker people pegged him as coming out of College.

White holds onto his number 45. He takes it from Long Snapper Rick Lovato, who donned 45 since he took over for Jon Dorenbos back in 2016.

Notable Eagles To Wear 45- Rick Lovato, Don Burroughs

49- LS-Rick Lovato

With White taking 45, Lovato switched to 49. Unfortunately, Long Snappers are not going to have much power to protect their jersey number. Lovato, more than almost anyone, is a lock to make the team. But a linebacker is going to get that number over a long snapper.

Notable Eagles to Wear 49- Alex Singleton

54- LB- Jeremiah Trotter Jr.

I mean, duh. We all knew he was getting 54 long before it was announced. He wore it in college, and his dad wore it with the Eagles. It is only right to continue that legacy and let him rock his dad's number 54. Shaun Bradley wore it for them the past few years.

Notable Eagles To Wear 54: Jeremiah Trotter, Kamu Grugier Hill, Jim Ringo

58-EDGE- Jalyx Hunt

Well, we dont know what type of player Hunt will be, but he picked a hell of a number. 58 famously belonged to Trent Cole. If Hunt is half as good as Cole was, it will be a great pick. It also works, Cole loved to hunt, and his TD celebration was related to hunting. Now a guy named Hunt adopts his number.

Notable Eagles To Wear 58: Jordan Hicks, Trent Cole, Ike Reese

63- C- Dylan McMahon

McMahon wore 54 in college. But his dad is not a famous Eagles player who wore 54. So he had to make the switch. He takes up 63, which belonged to Jack Drsicoll last year.

Notable Eagles To Wear 63: Jack Driscoll, Danny Watkins, Ron Baker

77- OG- Matt Hennessy

With Jason Kelce retiring, and Sua Opeta/Jack Driscoll leaving in free agency, the Eagles needed depth inside. Enter Matt Hennessy, someone with starting experience who should be able to fill in at either Guard position if needed.

His number with the Falcons, 61, was available. But instead, he will go with 77. A number no one wore for the Eagles in 2023.

However, this could change again. Mekhi Becton has not been given a number yet, and he wore 77 with the Jets.

Notable Eagles To Wear 77- Andre Dillard

79- OG- Trevor Keegan

Keegan's 77 was claimed by Matt Hennessy, so he had to switch. So he took what has been a great O-Line number for the Eagles, 79. Keegan has the chance to contend for a starting spot. But even if Steen wins the job, Keegan could be the primary backup at either Guard spot.

Notable Eagles To Wear 79: Brandon Brooks, Todd Herremans

80- WR- Parris Campbell

Like Parker, Campbell is by no means a lock to make the team. His history with Sirianni, who was his OC in Indy for a bit, may give him a leg up. He will wear the number 80 if he does.

In the past, Campbell has worn 0, 1, and 15. 0 and 1 are taken, and 15 is retired for Steve Van Buren. So he had to pick a 4th number.

Notable Eagles To Wear 80- Cris Carter, Kevin Curtis, Julio Jones, James Thrash, Irving Fryar

82- WR- Ainias Smith

Smith wore 0 in college, but Bryce Huff claimed that before Smith was even an Eagles. So now he switches to 82. He could be a candidate to change it if he makes the roster and more numbers open up. But for now, 82 it is. The good news is that there are already a few eagles named Smith that wore 82. You might be able to dig them out of the closet now.

Notable Eagles To Wear 82: Torrey Smith, LJ Smith, Mike Quick

87- TE- CJ Uzomah

The Eagles badly needed TE depth and might have gotten that in Uzomah. The 30-year-old has had productive seasons in the past. Eagles right now are hoping the combination of him and Albert O will give them enough behind Goedert.

87 has been Uzomah’s number his whole career, and he will keep it with the Eagles.

Notable Eagles To Wear 87- Brent Celek, Todd Pinkston

89- WR- Johnny Wilson

Wilson is another guy whose number is already taken. he wore 14 in college, but Kenny Gainwell has it for the Eagles. If Wilson sticks around, he will get the chance to pick a better number than 89. It belonged to Jack Stoll last year, but with him leaving, 89 opened up.

Notable Eagles To Wear 89: Jack Stoll, Chad Lewis, Calvin Williams

97- DT- Moro Ojomo

The 6th round pick last year spent most of his season on the inactive list. Can he make a bigger impact this season? He will have to crack the roster first, which is not guaranteed. But if he does, he will be rocking 97.  97 was blocked last year by Kentavius Street. With him gone, Ojomo snapped it up.

Notable Eagles To Wear 97- Javon Hargrave, Broderick Bunkley
