Kincade & Salciunas: Weekdays 6am – 10am

There are so many different variables in play as to what the Eagles will do with the 10th and 30th picks in the first round of the NFL Draft. I’ve been studying hard, making calls and will now attempt to read the tea leaves from what I have gathered. Knowing how Howie Roseman works I might be way off. I’m pretty confident that I’ve potentially cracked the code. Think of this as a working flow chart. Here is my best assessment:

  • WILL THE EAGLES DRAFT JALEN CARTER?

ASSUMPTION: If the Eagles see Will Anderson AND Jalen Carter go off the board by the 5th pick in the draft…

    POSSIBLE OUTCOMES

    – I believe it is a guarantee that the Eagles will be looking to move BACK and will trade the 10th pick. More on that later…

    – If Jalen Carter is NOT selected in the first 5 picks, Howie will try to go get him by trading up aggressively.

  • WHAT POSSIBLE TRADES COULD BE INTERESTING TO HOWIE WITH THE 10TH PICK?

ASSUMPTION: If one of the top quarterbacks hasn’t come off the board after the first 9 selections, I expect this to happen.

    POSSIBLE OUTCOMES

    – TENNESSEE will trade up from 11 to 10 in order to grab a quarterback

The Titans will attempt to insure that no other QB hungry team jumps them so the Eagles should be able to grab a 3rd round pick for that honor.

    OR

    – GREEN BAY will trade up from 13 to 10 in order to draft Jaxon Smith-Njigba

I believe the Eagles know that the Packers were intent to flip draft position with the Jets in order to be able to grab the Ohio State Wide Receiver. I figure that Howie’s recent “public interest” in Smith-Njigba was to drum up interest from teams that might be interested in going after him. To move from 13 to 10 is worthy of at least a 3rd round puck if not a 2nd depending on demand.

    OR

    – WASHINGTON will trade up from 16 to 10 IF one of the top quarterback prospects is still on board after 9 selections.

The Eagles could grab next years number one or multiple second round picks for the Commanders to jump up.

  • WILL THE EAGLES DRAFT A PLAYER AT 30?

The Eagles will potentially look to move out of the 30th pick. Other teams will possibly look to move up to the back end of the first round in order to grab the 5th year of control over the player they select.

    – IF the Eagles don’t move up from the 10th pick they could agree to move back from 30 into the second round to grab additional draft capital.

    – IF they didn’t draft Bijan Robinson earlier in the first round my prediction is that they will select Alabama Running Back Jahmyr Gibbs with the 30th pick.

    – IF they drafted Bijan Robinson earlier in the first round my prediction is that they will select an edge rusher with the 30th pick and NOT trade out.

  • WILD PREDICTION OF DRAFT NIGHT

The Eagles trade back from 10 to 11, then trade back from 11 to 13.
If you want yo get really wild, Howie makes over 2.5 trades on the first night of the draft.
