Experts Roast The Eagles Pathetic Display Last Night

Last night was an embarrassment for the Eagles. Not just because they lost, but because of how they lost. It was as bad as it gets. To the point that…

Last night was an embarrassment for the Eagles. Not just because they lost, but because of how they lost. It was as bad as it gets. To the point that it will probably get Nick Sirianni and the coaching staff fired. The Bucs pretty much dominated the game from start to finish. They held the Eagles to just 9 points while racking up 32 of their own. It was an utter embarrassment.

Don't take my word for it though. Experts all around the NFL were weighing on just how pathetic last night was for the Eagles. From the poor tackling, the awful play calls, and the overall sense that none of them wanted to be there. The Eagles were getting roasted by people around the NFL all night long, and deservedly so. Some were calling the Eagles out for poor play. Others were calling for Nick Sirianni to be fired. But the overall sense was that there needs to be some drastic changes. Because what we saw last night was not good enough. And it is hard to see it just magically getting fixed.

Here is what some of the experts around the NFL had to say about the Eagles' terrible scheme on both sides of the ball:

Troy Aikman 'We've Seen Enough of It All Year Long"

Troy Aikman was pulling no punches with the Eagles all night. Half of the time he was speaking he was tearing the Eagles apart for one thing or another. And here he is picking them apart for a particularly terrible effort by the defense. James Bradberry and Kevin Byard both whiffed at a chance to keep it just a short gain. Instead, it turned into a long TD.

Troy Aikman- "Cannot Go Into Next Season Status Quo"

Troy Aikman was not done with them yet though. After the game he and Joe Buck joined Scott Van Pelt, and he basically said there needs to be some major changes if the Eagles are going to bounce back from this.

Emmanuel Acho Rips Matt Patricia

Acho is not most Eagles fan's favorite analyst. But it is hard to argue with him here as he tears apart some of Matt Patrica's play calls, and points out that he was using plays he already knew don't work.

Clay Harbor Calls Out Awful Tackling

Another former Eagles and current analyst also weighed in. James Bradbery was missing tackles all night long, and this was yet another example of that.

Dan Orlovsky Calls Out Eagles For Not Able To Handle The Blitz

Eagles have struggled to handle the blitz all season. And that continued vs the Bucs. All game long on 3rd down, they brought extra pressure, and the Eagles were never ready for it. Their 3rd down play-calling was particularly awful, as Orvolsky points out.

Ray Lewis Disgusted In the eagles Defense

Ray Lewis will never be one to pull punches. And he was not going to watch the Eagles' lack of effort on defense and not say something about it. You can hear the disgust in his voice as he calls them out for jogging after the ball, instead of sprinting to make a tackle.

Jay Gruden Calls Out The Eagles For Not Helping Jalen Hurts

This led to a very funny interaction with RG3, who was a bit taken aback given what Gruden put him through. But Gruden's history aside, he is right. The Eagles left Hurts out to dry against the blitz all night. They gave him no options to counter the blitz and failed to protect him.

Louis Riddick Thinks Eagles Should Make A Change At Head Coach

Put Louis Riddick in the camp of thinking Sirianni should be fired. On Get Up this morning, he called for them to make a change and go after Bill. He also talked about how every single team attacks the Eagles in the same way, and it always works.
