DENVER, COLORADO - OCTOBER 08: Bryce Hall #37 and Sauce Gardner #1 of the New York Jets celebrate after Hall recovered a fumble and scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Denver Broncos at Empower Field At Mile High on October 08, 2023 in Denver, Colorado.

Eagles are in the rare position of not having top billing in Philly right now. They are currently down on the second shelf, while the city celebrates the Phillies advancing to the NLCS for the 2nd straight time. But luckily, that series does not start until Monday. Meaning on Sunday, Philly fans can still devote all of our attention to the Birds, who are taking on the Jets in not New York this weekend.

And they are worthy of our attention. The Eagles head into the game 5-0, with a chance to start 6-0 for the second straight season on the line. There have been some sloppy performances mixed into those wins. But they won them all. And last week vs the Rams it seemed like things start to click on both sides of the ball. They now have 300 passing yards for two straight weeks. 400 total yards in the last 4 games. And the defense has held the other team under 300 yards in 2 of the last 3 games.

The Eagles have never lost to the Jets, literally ever. They are 12-0 All Time vs them. Will that record stand though? Or can the Jets finally break through and get into the win column?

Well, the season has not gone the way Jets fans hoped. Thanks in large part to Aaron Rodger’s injury. Swapping in Zach Wilson for a former MVP QB has severely limited their offense. But the defense is still very good. They have an elite CB duo and a fairly dangerous D-Line. They are a hit susceptible to the run game. But this is a team that did beat the Bills and gave the Chiefs a hard time. So they are not complete pushovers. So let’s look through the Jets roster, to see where the Jets could maybe hurt the Eagles.

Here are 5 Jets Players who could give the Eagles a hard time on Sunday:

  • Breece Hall

There is not a ton you have to worry about on the Jets’ offense, but Breece Hall is definitely one guy to watch. He is averaging 7.2 yards per carry and has 387 total yards through 5 games. Several of which he was on a snap count for. But the snap count is officially over, and he is fully ready to go. Last week against the Broncos he put up 177 yards on 22 carries with one TD. The Eagles’ defense has been better against the run than anyone. But Hall is their toughest test yet.

  • Sauce Gardner

AJ Brown has 3 straight weeks with over 100 yards. That will be in danger this week with Brown likely to be going up against one of the best Corners in the league. Sauce Gardner was rookie of the year last season and was named by his peers as the 23rd-best player in the league. He could also be put on Devonta Smith, but it feels more likely he will shadow Brown the entire game. Which could mean it’s a big game for Smith on Sunday.

  • Garrett Wilson

The one Jets WR that could maybe hurt the Eagles is Wilson. He has not put up the gaudy numbers many predicted, thanks largely to Zack Wilson being his QB instead of Aaron Rodgers. But he is still a dangerous WR. The Eagles settled in in the second half of the Rams game to shut down Cooper Kupp. They will need a similar game on Sunday to keep Wilson from hurting them. The upside is he does not have Matthew Stafford throwing to him like Kupp did. Slay being out on Sunday makes stopping Wilson a taller task.

  • Quinnen Williams

Backup LG Sua Opeta had to deal with Aaron Donald last week and played great. It does not get easier for him this week though. Quinnen Williams is also among the elite DTs in the league, though still a notch below Aaron Donald. Donald struggled because while he drew double teams, the rest of the line was quiet. But the Rams D-Line is much deeper. And if Williams commands a double team, that just opens up things for Quinton Jefferson (2.5 sacks), Quincy Williams (2 sacks), and Jermaine Johnson (2 sacks). The O-line will have to play at their best to protect Jalen Hurts in this one.

  • Xavier Gipson

And finally, the Eagles have to concern themselves with the Jets Return man. Gipson has been one of the better return men in the league. He is 6th in average return yards, and of course, had the electric walkoff punt return in week 1 vs the Bills. He also has the 6th best Kick Return average. The Eagles coverage team has been far better than it was last year so far. But it is something to keep an eye on.
