Rocky 4 Is The Best Rocky Movie, Here Is Why
I don’t know about you, but in my life, Rocky comes up fairly often. I have a great love for Apollo Creed, and I have a real beef with Adrian. While none of the Rocky films are bad (Rocky V isn’t a Rocky movie), I have always believed that Rocky 4 is the best one and I don’t think there is much of an argument otherwise. Rocky Doesn't Even Win In Rocky 1 People will gravitate to the original Rocky because it started things off. You see the rise of Rocky and you meet all the important players. We see Adrian, we meet her trifling brother Paulie. We see the superstar Apollo and his trainer Duke. We see Mickey. You know what else we see? We see a fight that should have been stopped 12 times before Rocky loses. The movie is called Rocky and Rocky loses. It should be called Apollo. Why It Is Better Than Rocky 2 Nobody thinks Rocky 2 is the best movie, but it is underrated. Apollo wants a rematch even though he won because he rightfully feels like he should have dominated the unskilled Rocky Balboa. Rocky isn’t going to fight because of the consistently horrible Adrian making him feel guilty. Remember, he is still carrying her trifling brother Paulie. How will he afford him? Finally, she gives the okay, with “win” and Rocky goes on to win the world title in a huge upset. Rocky 2 is the 2nd best Rocky movie. The Problem With Rocky 3 Rocky 3 is the most unrealistic of them all. Yes, even with some of the insane things that happen in the other movies, Rocky 3 is the most insane. Let me get this straight, Rocky is faster than Apollo in a footrace? There is Hulk Hogan throwing Rocky outside of the ring. There is tragedy as unfortunately Mickey passes away. Clubber Lang is a great villain, and he knocks Rocky out who found out that they were picking weak opponents for him to continue his title reign. After Mickey’s unfortunate passing, Rocky goes to train with Duke and Apollo. Rocky suddenly is adding finesse to his game. It works and Rocky goes on to win the world title once again. The problem is, we know Rocky wouldn’t be faster than Apollo in a race. It voids the bulk of the movie with that ridiculous race. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WDb2NkcZBg Why Rocky 4 Is The Best Rocky 4 is a masterpiece. Rocky is now world champ and has a robot in his house. Adrian who used to pretend she was humble is now a socialite. You have our beloved Apollo in an exhibition fight against the steroid-using Russian, Ivan Drago. Drago is joined by Baroness Ludmilla. James Brown is a part of Apollo’s entourage, and his lovely wife is ringside. Apollo has Duke in his corner and Rocky. Strangely before the fight, he tells Rocky to not stop the fight no matter what. Drago goes on to end Apollo’s life in the fight. That is already better than any other Rocky movie, but it doesn’t stop there! Rocky then decides to vacate his world championship and avenge Apollo’s death on Christmas Day in Russia. After he decides to do so, Adrian, who is a consistent negative force in Rocky’s life tells him that, “you can’t win” while standing on the beach in a $10,000 dress that Rocky paid for. So Rocky heads out with Duke to train in Siberia. At one point the KGB is spying on Rocky when he goes for a run in the snow. As the KGB’s vehicle slides due to the inclement weather, Rocky makes it to the top of a mountain I'm low-top boots. What a moment. Meanwhile, Drago is training in a state-of-the-art facility and being fed more steroids than Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds combined. Things appeared bleak for our hero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVP1wO_E4yk Finally, it is Fight Night on USA Network and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev is in attendance. Rocky managed to get a perfect golden tan for the fight, and that is never explained, nor is it explained why Duke was shirtless during the training montage. Rocky is in the ring and who is out there, but his biggest hater Adrian, who had made the trip to Russia to “support” Rocky. Drago dominates the fight early, but Rocky rallies to get the Soviet crowd on his side, and eventually to a knockout victory. Duke was masterful in the corner throughout the fight. Adrian was as usual a negative. At the conclusion of the fight, Rocky realizes he wasn’t just fighting to beat his opponent and avenge the death of his best friend, but he was fighting for geopolitical reasons. Rocky realized that if he could change, then they (the Soviets) could change and instantly solved the Cold War! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbVqciFRioA Rocky IV is the best Rocky movie and I don’t think that it is close.
