Saquon Barkley Wins NFC Offensive Player Of The Week
Saquon Barkley was as good as advertised in week 1. Better even. In his debut game in an Eagles jersey, he racked up 109 yards on the ground, 23 more through the air, and added 3 TDs. it was a masterful performance to kick off his career in Philly. Clearly people around the NFL thought so too, because he was named the NFC Offensive Player of The Week.
The award is not exactly surprising. When you score 3 TDs, it is usually a good sign you are going to win that award. Barkley is the only non-QB responsible for at least 3 TDs and is one of only 3 players with 2 rushing TDS. The other 2 are Josh Allen and Jayden Daniels.

Saquon Barkley Is Back On Top The NFL
It is the 4th time Barkley has won the award, the last coming early in the 2022 season. It must be nice for him to run behind an actual O-Line, with an actual QB to take some of the pressure off him. His production fell off later in his Giants career as injuries mounted, and teams basically put all of their defensive efforts into stopping him.
Now he gets a world-class O-line blocking for him, and he gets so many weapons around him it would be impossible for teams to key on him.
He might not get 3 TDs every week. In fact I would probably bet against that. But you can expect him to impact the game every week. Miles Sanders and D’Andre Swift were nice. Behind this line, they could put up good numbers. But in Barkley, you have a guy who can get yards on a poorly blocked play. He can break tackles. He takes them from an ok run game to a great one.
Not to mention the impact he can have in the passing game. That was an impressive catch by him for the Eagles 1st TD of the game.
The other players of the week included Tyrique Stevenson for NFC Defensive Player of the Week, Joe Mixon for AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Gregory Rousseau for AFC Defensive Player of the Week, then Chris Boswell and Jake Moody for the Special Teams Players Of The Week.
