Kincade and Salciunas Play of the Day: Couturier Over .5 Points
Before a new show launches, tons and tons of ideas are thrown around. Segment ideas, weekly guests, future broadcasts around big events. So much goes into a new show. That is why changes don’t happen overnight. Well with all that hard work, sometimes things just happen organically like the “Kincade and Salciunas Play of the Day.”
After the Flyers win over Toronto Tuesday night, Wednesday’s show was filled with Flyers conversation… but not necessarily about the game. The debate surrounded Head Coach John Tortorella’s decision to scratch Captain Sean Couturier from the lineup.
No matter what your opinion on the move was, you have to admit that the Flyers played with a different energy and eventually beat a very good Maple Leafs team 4-3. The same happened Thursday against the Hurricanes in an overtime loss on the road.
Today Play of The Day: Take The Over on Sean Couturier Points
As we talked about the move, I said I already have a bet for the next Flyers game in which Couturier is back in the lineup. I am taking his over .5 points against Boston today. Whether it be a goal or an assist, maybe the Captain plays with a different energy. He is a very good player, but he was scratched because he was not playing well.
I am expecting a different Couturier on the ice today. If not, then we will question “The Captain”. Is that too much pressure? I don’t give a damn. The Flyers are on a playoff push and he is a huge part of the team’s success.
After I gave my play, John immediately agreed. That is when we came up with the idea of the play of the day. This may not happen every single show, because it has to be something that we both strongly agree on.
You may be reading this on the third day of the NCAA tournament expecting a basketball play, well, sorry. Money is money.
