NFL Draft 2023: Eagles undrafted free agent tracker
The NFL draft is over but the Eagles arent done adding.
The Eagles drafted seven players in this years draft but have been aggressive adding undrafted players in recent years. Last years initial 53-man roster included three undrafted free agents and another one ended up on the team shortly after final cuts.
In recent years, the Eagles havent been shy about paying out some big money to lure the best UDFAs to Philly and theyve found some gems.
Entering this draft, the Eagles had 71 players on their roster. They drafted seven players, added DAndre Swift in the draft and waived DT Marvin Wilson. That leaves 12 spots open.
Well track all their UDFA signings here:
Joseph Ngata, WR, Clemson: Ngata has a big frame at 6-3, 217 pounds but had underwhelming production at Clemson. His best season came in 2022 when he had 41 catches for 526 yards and 2 touchdowns. ( Former Clemson WR Joseph Ngata is signing with the #Eagles, per source.
Ty Zentner, P/K, Kansas State: The Eagles might need an upgrade from Arryn Siposs and at least Zentner would give him some competition. Zentner was a Ray Guy Award semifinalist in 2022 and averaged 44.5 yards per punt, putting 27 inside the 20. ( Kansas State punter/kicker Ty
Zentner is signing with the Eagles, per league source.
Zenter was a semifinalist for most outstanding punter in college football this past season. Some competition heading into the summer
Trevor Reid, OL, Louisville: Reid (6-4, 311 pounds) started two seasons at left tackle at Louisville. Hes a really athletic prospect with upside but is considered to be quite raw after getting a late start in football. ( WE are learning that Trevor Reid the Massive O-Lineman from Louisville is headed to the #Eagles as a UDFA
Mekhi Garner, CB, LSU: Garner (6-2, 212) is a big, physical corner who started one year at LSU after transferring from Louisiana. He had 43 tackles and 8 pass breakups last season. ( #Eagles are signing former #LSU LSU CB Mekhi Garner, source tells @theScore.
Garner measured a healthy 6-2, 212 pounds and jumped an impressive 38 inches.
Eli Ricks, CB, Alabama: The Eagles got a good UDFA corner from Alabama last year in Josh Jobe and theyre trying again. Ricks began his career at LSU and played just one season at Bama. The 6-2, 188-pound corner had four interceptions as a freshman in 2020. ( The #Eagles are expected to sign former Alabama and LSU cornerback Eli Ricks as an undrafted free agent, a source tells @on3sports
Jadon Haselwood, WR, Arkansas: The 6-2, 215-pound wideout will be reunited with Jalen Hurts in Philly. Haselwood played at Oklahoma for three seasons before finishing off his college career at Arkansas. With Hurts in 2019, Haselwood had 19 catches for 272 yards and a touchdown. ( The #Eagles are set to sign former Arkansas and Oklahoma wide receiver Jadon Haselwood as an undrafted free agent, a source tells @on3sports.
Posted 59 catches for 702 yards at Arkansas last season.
Ben VanSumeren, LB, Michigan State: VanSumeren began his college career at Michigan as an offensive player but flipped to defense and eventually became a starter for the Spartans. In 2022, he had 81 tackles and 3 TFLs. Hes extremely athletic and has crazy testing numbers. ( #MichiganState LB Ben VanSumeren is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 6-foot-3, 237lb freak athlete posted a 42.5-inch vertical leap, 29 reps on the bench, and a 10’11” broad jump.
His 4.40s 40-yard dash would‘be been the 2nd-fastest among LBs at the Combine.
