Phillies at Reds: Matt Strahm’s odd outing, bats go silent in loss
One step forward, two steps back.
The Phillies find themselves back in the loss column on Saturday, falling 13-0 to the Reds. They were coming off of an all-around productive win Friday, snapping a three-game losing skid, but any motivation that might have been building from that has been smothered.
Matt Strahm, an emerging arm in the pitching rotation, lasted just under three innings.
His final stat line: 2.2 IP | 2 H | 3 R | 3 ER | 3 BB | 6 K | 2.13 ERA
Strahm became the first Phillies starter ever to collect six strikeouts while pitching under three innings.
While the bullpen was unable to keep the Phillies within reach, offensively, things were not much brighter.
