Flyers vs. Bruins preseason: Preview, game time, TV info, lineup and more
VOORHEES, N.J. The Flyers play their final home exhibition game Monday night when they welcome the Bruins.
The club’s last two preseason games come on the road: Tuesday against the Islanders in Bridgeport, Connecticut (7 p.m. ET) and Friday against the Capitals (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP).
Let’s get into the essentials for Monday night’s game.
- When: 7 p.m. ET
- Where: Wells Fargo Center
- Broadcast: NBC Sports Philadelphia
- Live stream: NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com and the NBC Sports MyTeams app
Flyers fans will get their first glimpse of Elliot Desnoyers at the Wells Fargo Center.
The 2020 fifth-round pick will make his preseason debut. The organization is high on the 19-year-old prospect.
“I’ve really liked what I’ve seen in practice,” Vigneault said Monday after morning skate.
Desnoyers can play center or winger. In 2020-21, he had a breakout season in the QMJHL, putting up a pair of four-goal outings and scoring 49 points (21 goals, 28 assists) through 37 games for Halifax.
He’ll be back with the Mooseheads this season for his final year of junior hockey.
“Just a real impressive kid, he’s one of those kids you talk to, hell sit and talk hockey to you all day long,” Flyers assistant general manager Brent Flahr said last month. “He’s down there, he’s talking to the veteran guys, he’s learning every day. His work ethic and determination are off the charts.”
Morgan Frost will center different wingers tonight. The 22-year-old will play with Oskar Lindblom and Cam Atkinson.
Frost had been with James van Riemsdyk and Joel Farabee all of camp. The 2017 first-round pick is the clear front-runner to fill Kevin Hayes’ second-line center spot to open the season but still has to claim victory on the role.
Carter Hart will start in net and play the full game.
Claude Giroux had a maintenance day Monday as he didn’t skate with either group.
In other camp roster matters, the Flyers loaned prospect Brian Zanetti to his OHL club Peterborough.
Excluding injured players, the club’s camp roster is at 43. The Flyers must be at a maximum of 23 by the Oct. 15 regular-season opener and may carry only 22 (one extra forward, one extra defensemen) for salary cap reasons.
